my galaxy s4 charges when i connect it to the cpu, but the cpu doesnt recognize the device to let me add files

anyone had this problem?

My s2 use to always do that. I don't know about drivers, but my issue was solved by just changing usb cables :leon: Or even just trying a different usb slot on the cpu.

or do they not need them?

nah i never installed anything

had the phone like 2 months, never had a problem until 2 days ago

sprint just changed out my charging port....i thought that might be the reason but the cpu recognizes it to charge it so i dunno...

1) computer charging it is just due to electric current; doesnt mean your pc recognizes it though
2) can you elaborate on "sprint just changed out my charging port"?

Yeah, my s2 did that sh1t. Charging and sending data is 2 differnt things. Need a tech person to explain that. The cpu should automatically install the needed software. May have to manually download the sh1t from samsung. Let us know if u solve this problem. I know I will have this issue again. Would like to know a more efficient way to fix it next time. I can remember doing that and still having the problem tho :ehh:

I just continued to insert it over and over until it began to re-install what it needed by itself.

I will also say, those samsung cords are cheap as hell and could have a short as far as sending data. I have went thru so many of them. Finally just stopped using them and copped monoprice joints.

Oppo N1 CyanogenMod phone launches December 24th with Google's blessing

Oppo's announcement of a CyanogenMod custom Android version of the N1 was great news for performance phone fans, but who wants to sideload apps? Luckily, the new handset and CyanogenMod 10.2 combo has just cleared Google's compatibility test suite (CTS) gauntlet, meaning it'll officially get Google's Play Store to install apps.

That's the first time CyanogenMod has been certified by Mountain View on any device, a milestone which entailed "a lot of sleepless nights," according to the group. With that hurdle cleared, Oppo has announced that the CM-equipped handset will be available on December 24th, though there's no word if it'll cost $599 like thestandard model. Either way, fans of a more-or-less stock Android experience now have another choice besides Nexus and Google Play Edition handsets.

---------------------

It ships with Jelly Bean so you'd pretty much how to load up CM 11 as soon as you get the phone. And I don't believe its LTE and the Nexus 5 has a faster processor I think as well. Still looks legit though.

If u got it backed up, wouldnt hurt. Have u scanned your phone and cpu for viruses?

When I broke my s2 screen, I did a blind reset, and after it I was able to hook it up to the cpu. This definitely is not a new issue. I've googled in the past and found a lot of different suggestions. The more sh1t u try, Sprint may end up just replacing it. Did they hook it up to their own cpus at the store?
