Y'all DESERVE THIS.

Because when some of us were telling y'all T'Challa needed to be recasted y'all were like NO.

Then Disney went and recast a passed actor with Harrison Ford :unimpressed:

I think they should just recast. It’s an unfortunate situation, but Boseman’s legacy will actually get new wings if the franchise keeps going. Disney should also commit a donation to his family and cancer research. Death is an unfortunate reality of life. The character existed before Boseman though his portrayal was impactful.

This is a dumb and emotional take. One that both family members and cast crew already said is not what Chadwick would have wanted. Depriving fans, including black children, of a character that didn't have a chance to grow because the actor playing them died is a dumb, selfish, self gratuitous decision.

All they gotta do is zap a multiverse tchalla that was a slave in that intergalactic empire. Have him son the earthlings on some priest BP sh!t then have him go back to reclaim his empire from killmonger and acquire his venom suit :blessed:they could probably pull all that off in like 2 movies. Have him come back to the incursions occurring then use his aircraft to survive the final incursion etc. 🔥

Yeah and it's annoying. I'm sure Chadwick wouldn't want T'Challa treated like this in the MCU.
Blame COOGLER bytch ass

I blame him and his boss equally.

Ever since he said "T'Challa was the enemy" back in 2018 (that even had Chadwick like huh?) and said he didn't feel black americans would accept T'Challa if he didn't make the story revolve around Killmonger humbling him, i've looked at Coogler a bit sideways.

Then side comments from Chad about overcoming issues/frustrations with ppl on set during filming (didn't specify who or what), and later how everyone was acting like Shuri was the best thing in the movie and needed a spin-off with Leticia and Coogler cosigning each other on twitter about it with Chad being silent... was always weird energy.

^Little things that made me think "meh, whatever" bc of how meteoric a rise the character was on. Too big to fail. Little issues i had with the first movie where i rationalized with "well, Coogler just wanted to big up the supporting cast in movie 1, but T'Challa will get his feats and focus in movie 2 fa sho!"

but 5-6 years later and it feels more and more like Chad's death became an excuse to expedite this bullshyt that Coogler preferred all along.

There seems to be an almost refusal to create good content focused on/around T’challa

Eyes of Wakanda seems to be developing the wider Wakanda world/lore. Usually it wouldn't be an issue, but T’challa fans must be starving. In fact, it’s like they’re trying to make Wakanda the centerpiece of the IP rather than T’challa

Word. They've been doing that since he passed and it's really frustrating.
Yall do realize this stuff was in motion long before Chadwick died. In 2018 people were screaming for BP spinoffs/world building.

Former Marvel Studios storyboard artist Todd Harris was revealed in January 2024 to have pitched the series to Marvel and Coogler.[19] Ideas for it began during the filming of Black Panther,[5] with Harris looking to combine "the interconnectivity of Marvel with the interconnectivity of history along with the interconnectivity of the human story".[4]

Again Link? Cause what you are referring to is from gossip/comic news on this one from what I remember.

He outright said the sequel was very T'Challa based. Which is why people close to the film said he had to do a lot of changing of the script because it was T'Challa and his son story.

It was actually Chadwick who says it in this article. But Coogler has said that Killmonger was a better point of view character for a Black audience to identify with.

I don't Stan either one, I just want the real T'Challa back in the MCU

“It’s the enemy I’ve always known. It’s power. It’s having privilege.”

Its Boseman looking at it from a philosophical perspective.

There is another interview where he says he views Klaue as the villain and not Killmonger.

Still its people connecting dots that aren't there to create a new narrative from Chadwick dying and the cast having trouble just moving on business as usual.

Im someone who wants him recast as well, but a show long since planned ain't just another example of "shytting on T'Challa"

According to this youtube Disney wants Damson Idris for T'Child and Cynthia Erivo for Storm while Marvel wants Aldris Hodge for T'Challa and Jodie Turner-Smith for Storm....interesting.

Both choices for Storm are WACK

Both choices for T’Challa are dope it just depends on where their going with the character creatively. Damson works as a younger “T’Child” where he comes back to Wakanda from Haiti and has to prove himself worthy of the throne and T’Challa’s legacy. You can get a good 3 film trilogy plus out of that format and allow him to “grow” into the character similar to Tom Holland in Spiderman, plus since Damson is younger and on the come up Disney could easily get their standard 10 film commitment from him.

Aldis would have to play a variant of T’Challa since he’s almost the same age Chadwick Boseman was when he signed on. The upside is he’s a stronger actor than Damson is currently and could easily slide into the characterization that Chadwick broke ground on.

It really depends on where Coogler plans to leave the franchise in part 3 and where Marvel sees the character going creatively down the line. Seems like going the Damson Idris route would be a slam dunk if they want to slowly faze out the likes of Lupita and Gurari and start “fresh” with a new trilogy.

I agree Cynthia Erivo is a horrible choice for Storm. What's wrong with Jodie Turner-Smith?

FACTS!

But based on Sinners I'm now inclined to believe this is more on DISNEY! and Coogler having to follow protocol.

T'Challa was a Disney Okie doke to sell "black girl magic" and trial a Black FEMINIST movie which was in around the time first movie was released. Plus Disney were also looking to make women the leads.

Coogler has even said the plan was to make Shurri the main Black Panther even BEFORE Chad had passed. Hell Shurri in the movies is a more comic accurate T'Challa than T'Challa in the movies.

Remember this FINESSE from Disney
