lets wrap this up tomorrow boys
Yankees suck
Yeah the mariners are a scary opponent for sure
They have both Power and speed
They know how to hit homeruns and steal bases often
They are third best in the league when it comes to hitting homeruns and also ranked third when it comes to stolen bases.
They are also 9th in runs scored( 766 runs)
They have the 10th team with the most RBIs(734), they are also ranked 10th best on base percentage ( OBP), and 10th best slugging percentage(all the doubles, triples, and homeruns combined )
They were ranked #9 in the league when it comes to draw walks ( they drew 544 walks this year) seems like their hitters are smart, have good pitch judgment, are disciplined at the plate, are patient and know how to work the pitch count and tire opposing pitchers.
Interestingly, they’re only ranked #17 in base/single hits.(1344 hits this season)That means they’re clearly more of a power hitting team than a contact hitting team. They are mostly about the homerun- the Long ball. They aren’t a small ball team.
As a team They hit .241 this year. This is also their batting average. They’re ranked #20 in that area
Catchers Alejandro Kirk and Tyler Heineman will have to be much mentally and physically sharper if they play Seattle in the ALCS. They should know and expect that The mariners will attempt to steal a lot of bases in that series.
You should not underestimate the Mariners though. They have elite base running ability and speed ( they were ranked 3rd in the league in stolen bases this year), power hitting (they were ranked the 3rd best team with the most homeruns (238 ), only the Yankees and the dodgers hit more homers this year ) and were ranked top 10 in slugging percentage as a team this season.
Cal Raleigh is arguably the best catcher in the league. He hit 60 homeruns this year.
And Julio Rodriguez is the best young centerfielder in baseball.
They also have a solid starting pitching staff.(woo, Castillo, Kirby, Gilbert)
As for the Tigers, well they have in their batting lineup powerful and productive hitters that can hit for power and contact and often get on bases like Riley Greene, Wencel Perez, colt Keith, Spencer torkelson and Javier Baez
They also got very good starters like Casey mize and Tariq skubal.
For the last four remaining teams in the AL(yankees , tigers, blue jays, mariners) the path to the World Series is not as easy and predictable as it seems. Anything can happen in baseball. The NL playoff picture this year in theory, on paper is harder than the AL one ( phillies, cubs, brewers, and defending champion dodgers) but in real time, winning both league pennants won’t be no easy walk in the park. Predictions mean nothing, everything is decided during games.
havent done my research but do we want the tigers or mariners?
I think both teams we might take up like 30% of their stadium
I can honestly say that any message board that I have crossed Toronto has the biggest footprint. Even on this one it's one of the biggest if not the biggest. People from Toronto don't really stray. American's be moving all over the country and like all different shyt. Like to this day, I see cowboy fans and they aren't even from Dallas. And I don't know about you guys, but I didn't have ESPN or Fox Sports or whatever American sports channel and being the only team outside America in the league you would have to go to the internet to get deeper info on league stuff. TSN, and Sportsnet were cool, but all lot of times they sucked. Except the theScore. I loved theScoreDo you also post on Realgm ? I also post there but not as much as on here, and the first thing I’ve noticed is the very strong presence of many many Toronto sports fans over there. There are more Toronto fans than anybody else…I wonder why ?
The most active and popular team forums with the highest traffic and the most posts in the baseball, basketball and hockey sections of RealGm are the Toronto blue jays, Toronto raptors, and Toronto maple leafs. Any other team forum is a distant second or third in popularity, traffic and activity, well behind any Toronto sports team. There is no other team forum in the NBA section as active and popular as the Raps one. Same thing in the baseball section, the blue jays board is the most active by far. Same situation in the NHL section, even though it is the least active of the 4 major sports but even there the leafs forum is the busiest one.
Yeah we Canadians are not as nomadic and restless as Americans. We’re concentrated in Ontario, Alberta, BC, Quebec. We’re much more rooted in our cities/provinces. Most Canadians live near the Canada/ US border. We are also more complacent, cautious, conservative and take less risks. But the main reason why they can afford to move out all across their country is because the USA has more places/states with warmer climates and livable areas than us. They also have a bigger and more thriving economy. We don’t have the equivalent of Florida or California where we can escape the cold winters. At best we have British Columbia which is the Canadian version of the US Pacific Northwest.I can honestly say that any message board that I have crossed Toronto has the biggest footprint. The Biebs brings it home tonight in the Bronx. He won't be fazed. 3-0 sweep.
@MikelArteta we got a 25-26 Raps thread yet?

As far as I’m concerned, The Maple Leafs and the Raptors will be on the backburner this October. They will have to wait until the jays are eliminated. October this year belongs to the Blue Jays. They get priority.Nope not yet, honestly haven't even checked in what the raps have been up to.
I’m curious about Ingram. I wonder how he will look on the raps this year.Nope not yet, honestly haven't even checked in what the raps have been up to.
