I would've preferred Detroit. We just have to start this strong and not lose any at home. I think we will be in big trouble if we drop one. I think we have to have Bassitt for this round and I wonder what Bo situation is. I'm unsure if you want to risk him on the field because risk being a liability on defence imo. Decisions to make for John

I know we had the wild card series with Mariners but always wanted a Jays/Mariners actual playoff series. Can't wait.

Should be a good amount of support from those in BC for the away games, assuming they are willing to cross the border. Detroit woulda had tons of Jays fans obviously but Safeco is always packed with Jays fans too.

The mariners will be tired from this 15th inning game and they will have a hangover from the champagne celebration in their clubhouse.

43 hours remaining until Game 1 of the ALCS tomorrow night in Toronto

They already ran through their bullpen and pitching staff in extra innings, 43 hours before they will travel to face a rested Jays team in another country, three time zones away.

Jays have to win game 1

As for our fans taking over Safeco Field/T-Mobile Park for games 3–4-5 of the ALCS…

I don’t think we will completely take over their ballpark.

At best and at most, we might make up 20% of the crowd in Seattle , just because of geographical proximity and logistics…we have many Jays fans in Alberta and British Columbia.

And the worsening political/diplomatic relations between Canada and the United States recently won’t entice many Canadians to cross the border and spend time and money in the USA, all because of the brutishness, arrogance, insolence, vulgarity, childishness, incompetence, irresponsibility, disrespectful attitude and stupidity of the current MAGA/Trump administration

We won’t be able to invade it like the regular season, playoffs are different. Fans are much more territorial, prideful and intense in the playoffs. And playoff tickets are always more scarce, sought and expensive than regular season tickets. Playoff games of any sport are big time, once in a lifetime events. People in Seattle realize the rarity and the importance of the moment, they won’t miss out on these games. Last time the mariners made the ALCS was 2001, before that 1995. So 3 ALCS appearances in 30 years lol. They know their team may never have a chance to play in a ALCS again. So you bet they will go all out and enjoy the moment.

And the mariners will probably make sure to restrict ticket sales to local people as Much as possible ( Oregon or Washington state, so basically people living in the Pacific Northwest )

That's a good point because I think some fans are just going to stay home because of our current relations to the US. I like the idea of getting it back because I still can't go over that wildcard game when we pulled Gausman early. I think that image is still in many minds.

If I had to guess the (starting) pitching matchups in this series :

Starters for Game 1: Gausman vs. Woo
Starters for Game 2 : Yesavage vs. Miller
Starters for Game 3: Bieber vs. Kirby
Starters for Game 4: Bassitt/Berrios… maybe even Scherzer or Varland vs. Castillo

Starters for Game 5 ( if necessary) : Gausman vs Woo
Starters for Game 6 ( if necessary) : Yesavage vs Miller
Starters for Game 7 (if necessary) : Bieber vs Kirby

Even though Scherzer is a future HOFer, but I don't feel confident relying on him. He was very shaky in his last 5 starts, and other 2 if healthy are better option. I think Bassitt might be the best of the 3 imo

Can they restrict geographical proximity on the secondary market though like StubHub? I thought that was only with non-resale tickets through Ticketmaster. Because the Bronx had a decent amount of Jays fans for game 3 (excluding the family members)

As long as folks are okay crossing border, they'll find a way to get tickets.

had a feeling he would be left off. Nice to see Scherzer and Bassitt made it. I feel there's no in between with how game 4 goes for us but f it hopefully they pitch the game of their lives

At best he might be able to play in the World Series and that’s only if everything goes right for him . And that’s only if we win the American League Pennant. The World Series is two weeks away. That’s 2 more weeks of rest and recovery. But I really believe he won’t play again anymore this year. We shouldn’t expect him to come back. It’s not hopeless but I think his season is probably over. We will see him in spring training next year instead.

Even without him, we have more than enough offense to win games. And his defense can be replaced by Gimenez at Shortstop ( SS)

The correct opinion. Seattle can match the Jays hit for hit. Jays have to sweep at home.
