At best he might be able to play in the World Series and that’s only if everything goes right for him . And that’s only if we win the American League Pennant. The World Series is two weeks away. That’s 2 more weeks of rest and recovery. But I really believe he won’t play again anymore this year. We shouldn’t expect him to come back. It’s not hopeless but I think his season is probably over. We will see him in spring training next year instead.

Even without him, we have more than enough offense to win games. And his defense can be replaced by Gimenez at Shortstop ( SS)
I think the only worry is guys coming back to earth. Like there's no way Ernie maintains this current form, right? However, sometimes it's like that where you have the unexpected playoffs heroes and maybe he's one of them to get us to the world series.

Yeah, we have to go into the rest of the playoffs with the though of Bo done for the season. Then, we have to hope we can get a good deal for Bo. I think his FA market is strange due to his defence is a bit shaky.

The correct opinion. Seattle can match the Jays hit for hit. Jays have to sweep at home.
it's indeed the tougher matchup on paper imo. I truly think the series might be decided in how the first 2 games go. I guess we have to hope some Jays fans can make their trip to Seattle to make it an easier place to play, but I doubt we could invade their stadium because city is most likely amped for this due to it being ages since they have a team that can make the world series.

The Blue Jays should be the favorites in this ALCS against the Mariners primarily because they have home field advantage and they are a deep, resourceful, resilient, fundamentally smart and technically sound team who doesn't beat itself, unless they play the series like they did in Game 3 against the Yankees, I would expect they win in six games or less.

This Mariners team looks like the 2015 blue jays and we look like the 2015 KC royals, hopefully the series goes the same way

Yeah there is no guarantee that the Blue Jays offense will dominate the mariners pitchers just like they dominated the Yankees pitchers. Unfortunately great performance in a previous playoff series =/= same performance in the next playoff series. Past performance is not an indicator of future performance. Playoff performance in each round of the major league Baseball playoffs is always on a case to case basis

And Even if Bo can slowly run around the field…he won’t be able to run at full speed and make turns to play baseball. He won’t be able to dive, jump, read plays, make catches and make defensive plays as a shortstop infielder. His swing, ability to make contact at the plate during at-bats , mobility, agility, and footwork will be significantly affected.

If he’s trying to force himself to play despite not being healthy again, he might destroy his entire career and cost himself hundreds of millions of dollars in future earnings.

And I think it’s quite obvious that he wants to play so bad, that’s why he’s out there running the bases with a torn knee during practice, when in any other situation (like the regular season), he’d be out another month with no activity.

He’s just still very injured, it’s unfortunate but it’s the reality. And if we’re honest, his Complete recovery is 2 months away and that’s only if he’s lucky. I don’t mind if he’s done for the year anyway , I want him healthy and functional at 100% for next season. I think The rest of the team will pick up the slack this year.

Silver lining of his injury : the Blue Jays front office/Atkins will have serious leverage during contract negotiations during the offseason. This is a good situation for us because we might sign Bo long term but at a cheaper price. His defensive flaws and his injury/ health history will deter teams from giving him the sun, the galaxy, the moon and the stars.

Seattle had a surprisingly bad 10-20 record against the AL East this season

The Blue Jays won the season series between the two teams 4-2. In April, They lost two games out of three at home in Toronto but They swept the 3-game series in Seattle a month later in May.

Yeah the mariners are a scary opponent for sure

They have both Power and speed
They know how to hit homeruns and steal bases often

They are third best in the league when it comes to hitting homeruns and also ranked third when it comes to stolen bases.

They are also 9th in runs scored( 766 runs)
They have the 10th team with the most RBIs(734), they are also ranked 10th best on base percentage ( OBP), and 10th best slugging percentage(all the doubles, triples, and homeruns combined )

They were ranked #9 in the league when it comes to draw walks ( they drew 544 walks this year) seems like their hitters are smart, have good pitch judgment, are disciplined at the plate, are patient and know how to work the pitch count and tire opposing pitchers.

Interestingly, they’re only ranked #17 in base/single hits.(1344 hits this season)That means they’re clearly more of a power hitting team than a contact hitting team. They are mostly about the homerun- the Long ball. They aren’t a small ball team.

As a team They hit .241 this year. This is also their batting average. They’re ranked #20 in that area

Our pitchers and Catchers will have to be much mentally and physically sharper if they play Seattle in the ALCS. They should know and expect that The mariners will attempt to steal a lot of bases in that series.

Brehs what’s it looking like? Gonna be a tough series?

Blue jays in 6 games. It will be competitive but Toronto will find a way to win at the end.
The Mariners have elite base running ability and speed ( they were ranked 3rd in the league in stolen bases this year), power hitting (they were ranked the 3rd best team with the most homeruns (238 ), only the Yankees and the dodgers hit more homers this year ) and were ranked top 10 in slugging percentage as a team this season.

Cal Raleigh is arguably the best catcher in the league. And Julio Rodriguez is the best young centerfielder in baseball.

They also have a solid starting pitching staff.(Woo, Castillo, Kirby, Gilbert)
