I don't ever want to doubt these Jays but they will make things exponentially tougher for themselves if they don't win tomorrow. Not just being down 3-2, obviously, but facing Yamamoto in an elimination game on Friday night is going to be intense.
Nervous for tomorrow. I'd love to repeat the scenario and outcome of game 1 but I have a hard time seeing Snell be that bad again, especially at home. Hope they can surprise us tomorrow night.
I hope to see them explode offensively, chase Snell out of the game again early and blow out the LAD tomorrow. Think big, win big. Remember we won only one close, tight game in this playoff run( game 7 of the ALCS against the mariners, final score: jays won 4-3 ) all our other playoff wins this year were no doubt blowouts. We play much better when we put our boots on their necks and make sure that the game is out of reach for our opponents with relentless offense/hitting mistake free defense/fielding. The surest and safest way for Toronto to win a game is to score a lot of runs to give a comfortable lead and cushion to our bullpen because most of them are struggling to pitch and get strikes/outs under pressure. Other than Hoffman and maybe Lauer, I can’t trust the other relievers in our bullpen to get quick/easy strikes and outs and preserve/save a one or two run lead in the 9th inning and beyond. We can’t get quick 1-2-3 innings with these guys.
