I dont know if he did this one or not btw. But it sounds like you are saying you were inspired by some of the same things so there may be similarities. I never said it looked exactly like his. Just that i would assume thats who inspired you just from looking at it.

And I'm cool with that and can live by it. But no. It just came out that way. Me and Basquiat are huge fans of Cy Twombly work so that's what you are seeing plus he was a comic book head like me. I spent alot of time in museums as a kid just like him as well.

I studied art for a time and my influences weren't so obvious.
Why? I focused on technique instead of period...
You even got some Romare Bearden elements.
I never let my artistry rest on my childhood.
Two artists I love, same country, less than twenty years apart.

All that "art is subjective" smoke is why black artists underperform. I took time off to study aesthetics.

Them updates and additives ain't enough to say you not bitin' or "influenced" by, you're saying "copy". "Copy" and "influence" aren't the same.
Either you're copying and justify it by "great artists steal", or you not good enough to develop your own style from your influences to be great.
Being in a museum's permanent collection don't mean you're a savant. Fine art world is cultural politics of the elite. You serve a purpose.
