Exactly. I'd rather have a mixtape with a few dope ass beats and some subpar ones that is lyrically on point, than a whole mixtape or album that is carried by the production ::cough jay cough:: The biggest problem of music listeners nowadays is they look for instant gratification through beats.. but beats don't make up for everything else (meek is a good example, thats his biggest problem). It took me awhile to get through the whole tape cause I kept go going back and listening to a dope line I heard, and would start the song over to really hear the whole context. Cam is always good for that and he brought that.
Obviously this isn't no Purple Haze era sounding Cam'ron.. but If people were going in expecting it to be, and got disappointed you fooled yourself with how naive you are.
This is easily one of the best releases this year, and not because of the production. Honestly, how many releases this year can we say that about? How many albums this year would have even got the hype they did if the production wasn't the part that grabbed attention? Not many.
