There's always outliers, but everyone in this thread damn well knows reviews are usually pretty close to the general sentiment. Rarely do you see reviewers hand out 6's and then gamers declare the game a classic after release.

this would mean a lot more if these outlets and talking heads didn't go back to change reviews within days of a release

Damn this game has a lot of stans lmao, this company hasn't done anything to waver this type of support. I think it has cool ideas and features but you need to have substance as well and it clearly lacked in all the footage. A high 70 is still not a bad game and can be enjoyable. Rise of Ronin was the same and it was one of my favorite games.

Gotta say though, as more of a casual gamer, it's always hilarious to me how some of y'all react to these weird gaming metrics.

Only 7 points on a 100 scale being such a difference will never make any sense to me and how some of y'all are able to differentiate a score you are ok or not ok with is I think the real useful stuff is reading what are the things that make a score what it is. If Crimson Desert has bugs and boss battles that aren't that epic/good, that's what makes me hesitate on buying it first day, not a random ass 7 point average out of a retarded scale (100 points to rate something that's only "good" when it's above 80 is useless).

It's like if after a wrestling PPV folk would be saying "best match was 4.07 stars? couldn't even get a 4.3 match? I ain't copping a replay"

Not that the reviews were ever going to change my mind and a collective 8 out of 10 is still a good game but in terms of my gaming tastes, as an RPG grinder (pause), this sounds right up my alley. I max out my character until he becomes OP. I'll be fine here.

A 78 ain't too bad for me. I'm still excited to play it so I can form my own opinion. I don't think I'm sinking 110 in like the IGN dude and still don't have an opinion on it lol. But if it holds my attention until Saros comes out that's a win in my book!

Essentially. They want everything to be a 90 or above to be worthy of being played by them. But like I said constantly people don't think for themselves or form their own opinion so they let someone else do the work for them. Some of the games I've enjoyed the most have been the ones that are scored in that 70ish range.
