he's doubling down because he probably feels it's beneath him to entertain people's criticisms

and in his defense, he doesn't have to.

but my thing is this

if people's main take away from this is how mad and upset he makes gay people, and the perceive "cancel culture" warriors, then at what point is it about the jokes as oppose to getting a rise out of people.

which anybody could do.

with that said, I don't think it's a bad special, but it's not his best.

if I don't like dave, why does that offend you so much.
You're taking people's "main takeaway" based on the vocal minority. The average person isn't taking the time to fake outrage or monetize offense off of this. As uncomfortable as he makes people in the crowd, they're laughing. In your opinion, how should he have tackled these issues comedically?

Great special. "I'm familiar with these roads...I helped build them":umad:

It's nice to see a comic joke about everything. These twitter warriors are destroying comedy by trying to limit it to 10 acceptable things you are allowed to make fun of. They writing essays on if what you said was right or wrong, than if it was funny or not. It's jokes!, not a courtroom hearing.:mindblown:

This one was definitely coming

This was last year

"Comedians been getting beat up pretty bad recently and we're somehow nowadays expected to speak with the precision of attorneys or politicians... We're not."

"I always think of James Baldwin. James Baldwin was one of my favorite writers because he managed to tell white people what they FEEL like to be around."

"So I ain't going to hang my gloves up yet, I think I got one more special in me. So to quote Baldwin, 'God gave Noah the rainbow sign. it's no more water, it's the fire next time'"

Fire indeed Dave:wow::wow::wow:

and the people who are seemingly "fake outraged" are also the minority that are painted as these zealots as oppose to people who have critiques on comedy, much like how Chapelle, has his, and is paid for and platformed for.

i'm not saying people aren't over-dramatic at times

but to act like these people are calling to have him silenced or whatever, is disingenuous.

if one is gonna be for open dialogue and say what you want, expression etc. then that has to absolutely include everybody.

It’s not just criticism, they want people to lose gigs and livelihood for daring to have a difference of opinion.

They don’t want debate.

Dave Chapelle hasn't lost either or tho

and Kevin Hart ain't crying poverty and his career ain't suffered other than a few days of bad press.

did not expect it to be this good. So polished. Even the child molestation stuff had me cringing it was still funny. Did know not he was talking about Jessie Smollett though. I was like why is everybody laughing until he mentioned Empire. Still can’t believe he says the “f” word though. I can’t think any comedian who’s famous who would say that.

It’s not for lack of trying.

They won’t even allow Louie to go back on tour without trying to get promoters to shut him down.

I'm going to check it out later. I wasn't a huge fan of the last stand-ups (i didn't finish the last one tbh), but i heard a few bits on Twitter and they were really funny.
