so just fukk the victims huh

I mean, it's not like he still hasn't been doing stand up breh

maybe i'm just not getting it, but this persecution complex that comedians have, MULTI-MILLIONAIRE comedians at that, is falling on death ears for people who's really under the fukkin gun

It’s not for lack of trying.

They won’t even allow Louie to go back on tour without trying to get promoters to shut him down.

Pawgs with dragons
and the people who are seemingly "fake outraged" are also the minority that are painted as these zealots as oppose to people who have critiques on comedy, much like how Chapelle, has his, and is paid for and platformed for.

i'm not saying people aren't over-dramatic at times

but to act like these people are calling to have him silenced or whatever, is disingenuous.

if one is gonna be for open dialogue and say what you want, expression etc. then that has to absolutely include everybody.
Where have the people you are speaking of been censored or demonized? They have the podium:mjtf:I'm fine with that. Check my post history; the Film Room brehs will tell you I've been down with that, at the expense of my name, matter of fact:mjtf:I've been calling out these incels. Comedy.....correction, great comedy, is where I have drawn the line:unimpressed:

Breh did the grossest thing as a joke you could do as a joke to start this thing. He had me dying. If your first sexual encounter is Michael Jackson sucking your dikk, then the sky's the limit. :russ:

The bit about half the crowd getting molested, but just getting a bunch of awkward Thanksgivings out of it, and then saying these kids have to learn that a trip to Hawaii ain't free. :russ:

That shyt was vile in a completely funny way. That's how you tell a series of edgy fukked-up jokes. Talking about "Well, what were they wearing?" when he hears that some kids got molested by Michael Jackson. :russ:

Victims? :heh: those women could have walked out at any time.

But I’m done with the back and forth.

Why do people hold comedians to the same standards they would a civilian or journalist? It’s not to be taken LITERALLY

If you watched the epilogue Chapelle said taken comedians seriously is like taking someone ripping a fart in front of someone seriously. It’s mean to entertain and make people forget about their problems and laugh nothing more.

Some people now want comedians to do no punchlines and just serious political commentary lol

OK, I might be speaking from a place that's too immediate after this special, but it's his best Netflix one and might be my favorite special of his ever behind For What It's Worth.

He killed it with a lot of these punchlines, for one, but second, his energy was great in this whole stand-up. He's just disgusted with everybody. Also, his lack of caring about white druggies was exactly how everybody I know who isn't white feels about that shyt. You could tell that he was being really honest about that shyt.

Some of his transitions between topics weren't the greatest, but eh, the whole thing was some of the funniest shyt I've ever seen basically.

What I like is that Dave stays on white people's necks. If white gay folks and transgender folks want to keep getting mad about Dave pointing out that they only reason anyone even gives a fukk about how they're treated is that they're white, I don't give a fukk. They need to be reminded of this.

About the only thing that I don't give a fukk about is how bad he feels for Louis CK's goofy ass, but whatever.

Think of all the comedians who host talk shows that get most of their material from doing political satire. Oliver, Maher, Colbert, Noah, Stewart. Comedians now have the platforms to make political commentary on a daily basis, which is watched by an enormous audience. These aren't just guys writing punchlines and making fart jokes.

Dave Chappelle toes a fine line where he mixes more lighthearted even juvenile humor with strong undertones, it's what has made him so successful and has earned him acclaim. However, in his old age, he's strayed from relying on those funny and absurd anecdotes like crackheads eating doodoo, menacing babies selling crack, and the homeless holding a train hostage by masturbating; he's now directly addressing headlines in a much more blunt manner.

He's making people furious, and there is no doubt in my mind that Dave understands this. His comedy merits criticism, both positive and negative, and should absolutely encourage public discourse. I believe that the fact that Chappelle can do this on a whim is a testament to how important and great of a comedian Chappelle truly is.

Dave ain't shying away from societal problems. Quite frankly, I think you have to be a bit dense to sit through an entire special of his and not think about the commentary he makes in his work.
