I like this show.... like I really do.

And I know the coli who never took an acting class and ain’t directors, so I won’t go that direction and criticize her when I’m not in that field.

But I will say this..... cuz I believe it’s more than one person that has to approve this shyt.

I don’t really like some of the “choices” the girl that plays Lily went with when she was shooting this.

It’s really hard to sympathize or get behind her character

Gotta agree. I couldn't stand the "kid/soft" voices. Or the William Shatner speech pattern

Still enjoyed the show though.

Yes, her scenes are the least enjoyable scenes for me. I kinda feel like I have to grind right through them cuz they feel lifeless and they slow the pace down.

But I do understand why they are necessary

I agree, I think that's my only criticism is that they should have picked a different actress for her role... Not that she did a bad job, there was just a disconnect there for some reason. Every time they'd describe her as someone who "demand answers" or "Special" I never felt that.

I’m kinda putting blame too on the writers who wrote the character that way and the director.

Cuz they gotta film that shyt, watch it, then sign off on it. That’s why I feel they should be blamed too.

Some one on set could’ve called out the choice for her to be that “bland” but the the ones after CUT encouraging this telling her.

Just finished the finale

I feel like some things would have hit harder for me, if I had a better grasp of determinism as the show presented it, i.e. the whole gun situation.

Highlights for me were the Devs facility as a whole, and everything surrounding it from the light trees to the giant Amaya statue. And of course the system itself and peeking into the past/future. Score was as well.

I've been thinking about this and if you replace the actress with Raimi Malek and don't change anything else about the show, except that a couple of the characters not being from Harlem the show would be significantly better. You don't need to change the dialogue at all just replace the actress and the show improves by a wide margin.

I said from the beginning that she was brutal. There was no emotional weight in any of her scenes. Her facial expressions were good but once she started speaking it would derail almost every scene.

I'm with you on putting some blame on the director. How do you watch those scenes and say, "yep, that's the one." Is she Alex Garland's girlfriend in real life?

I really liked the show overall but it woulda been a notch or two higher with a better lead actress.

Maybe because she's a Brit and focused more on sounding like a stereotypical American girl than anything else
