Damn near all the reviews I've read seems to be punishing the show for it's past rather than moving on and embracing this new chapter.

I liked episode 1 and looking forward to the season.

fukk the reviews critics were shytting on the harder they fall. They judge things from a different perspective than the average viewer.

The first episode was OK, I'm giving it the benefit of the doubt because it basically setting up the rest of the season but the last few seasons left such a bad taste, that they kind of rub off on this new season and so it's easier to nitpick the flaws. I liked how they showed Dexter struggling to live a "normal" life and NOT bend to his urges to kill but I feel it could have been stretched an episode or 2, just felt a bit rushed to me.

Yeah I didn't expect his son to show up so soon either, that or catch a body. That fast pacing has me the most worried tbh, I was kinda hoping this miniseries would be a slower burn with less goofy shyt but it's still early, we'll see.
