All that said, I think MAINSTREAM rappers these days would benefit A LOT from having writers. And Im sure a lot of them do. But I dont think it's something to be ashamed of. I dont fukk with Cotton Candi Papi at all, but rap is the only genre where writing your own shyt is such a big deal. Who cares. ITs not like these radio nikkas are heralded as great lyricists or emcees in the first place. Id rather a nikka have tightened bars w/help than the garbage that passes for radio rap these days.

It's not theft if Quentin Miller approaches Drake and says yo I got this 10 Bands joint, you want it and Drake says yes and puts it on his album. And credits Miller.

While we're at it, I was reading the Rick James greatest hits booklet, and he told the story
about how Quincy Jones told him the main bassline for "Thriller" was a direct lift from
"Give It To Me Baby", but with a different note on the end.

BTW, he flowed exactly like Phonte from Little Brother on the song they did together. Not saying Phonte wrote it, but I think it's funny in hindsight of these recent claims.
