Been watching some theory videos and seems like the what the Night king might want is: A baby from either John and/or Danaerys

Think about it remember in last episode (Episode 1 of Season 8) what the Umber boys' death symbol looked like?

We've seen that sign before and it's always been done by the WhiteWalkers and the Night King as seen in Season 1 below

Now click on the picture below and look at Rhaegar Targaryen's outfit when he was marrying Lyanna Stark (Ned's sister) and notice the Targaryen sigil . Not quite..but has similarities...

Could the NightKing be a Targaryen Ancestor? And while we're on that path we know the only humans he doesnt kill are baby boys as seen in Season 3(i think)

Now look at the theory video below which only discusses things that have already hapenned and theorizes what i explained above

the characters im most interested in right now are: Jon, Jamie, Arya & Bran

i feel like they will be most critical to the plot ending, maybe not Arya as much, but you just KNOW shes gonna pull some shyt that will make us go

You need to remember who's writing this and what their source material is. This is British history retold in-extremis as a fantasy story.

ALL monarchs are preoccupied with their heirs. There are very few exceptions (Queen Elizabeth I, perhaps, but even that is arguable... her nation certainly was preoccupied with it and the two centuries following her heirless death is best described as a political clusterfukk of religious extermination and civil war).

A monarch, first and foremost, before they can do any sort of ruling has to convince their people they were chosen by God to rule the nation. If God hasn't seen fit to extend that rule into the next generation by blessing them with a healthy and legitimate heir, who the hell is going to believe them? A monarch that doesn't have an heir is a sitting duck for revolution and rebellion. Why do you think heirs are given such status? The Dauphin in France, the Prince of Wales in the UK... they are given titles as babies that show everyone they were sent by God to rule and that even as an infant they are more fit than you or I.

The reason Britain is a Protestant nation (and America too being still largely Protestant by extension) is because the King couldn't produce a reliable heir in the 1500s. The impacts of Monarchs struggling with their lineage can echo for CENTURIES, often longer than the actual political decisions they take. We are still living in nations shaped by the fact that Henry VIII wanted to get divorced because his first wife didn't give him a healthy male child. He's considered one of England's most "important" Kings but mainly he lost wars to France and won easy territory in Ireland... it's the handling of his lineage that created his only real lasting impact on modern society and it's a HUGE impact. Northern Ireland and mainland Britain were effectively at war from 1916 to 1997 and the roots of the conflict can be traced back to Henry VIII's need for a son.

The question of lineage has been posed to Daenerys by Tyrion too (given she's unmarried and claims to be barren), it's something GRRM clearly thinks about - which makes sense because it is THE most important question when you're looking at the stability of a monarchy, which is what GoT is all about - it's the story of how they get from the fall of the Targaryns to the next dynasty (or will that dynastic "wheel" be smashed)... will it be led by Cersei (if so, she needs an heir or there'll need to be another season or four of war when she croaks), Dany (ditto) or Jon who is in need of a *fertile* Queen to make an heir... or will it even look like something more... democratic? The availability of heirs plays into ALL of that.

Cersei has always talked about the Lannisters as a fledgling dynasty - like Tywin, that's all she really gives a fukk about. Her family ruling into perpetuity. If she doesn't have a legit heir, she knows her throne means nothing, she knows she's open to coups, usurpers and rebellions for the rest of her reign. Euron is the only *eligible* bachelor going. He's a King. He's got a navy. He's got a reputation. Win the war, call the blonde kid Greyjoy like she called Joffrey and Tommen Baratheon and the next generation of pure-bred Lannister dominance is sewn up. Cersei gets to die believing she's Aegon the Conqueror.

This is a well thought out response. But I guess we'll see. I still maintain this show doesn't have time for that. I'll bookmark this and revisit it at the end of the season.

I’ve been watching theories, too.

The best theory to me was that the NK doesn’t die at all, but is transformed back into regular man.

When Jon showed dany the hieroglyphs at Dragonstone, the COTf and the 1st men weren’t fighting the wights. Jon just said that cuz that’s all he knows.

Maybe the key is to CURE, rather than just kill??

Stan is mentions that there was tons of dragon glass at dragonstone and that it wasn’t just the black kind. There were all colors of dragon glass. Maybe different glass means different things? Sam will read about it in a book and let us know.

Yo, Dany's vision from the House of the Dying shows the Red Keep hollowed out by fire and snow falling in the throne room. Bran's vision has a single dragon flying over Kings landing.

Yo, Dany's vision from the House of the Dying shows the Red Keep hollowed out by fire and snow falling in the throne room. Bran's vision has a single dragon flying over Kings landing.

KL could flip into wights in a heartbeat

they already established multiple people can fly on a dragon at once

again, my favorite scene to go back and watch is Dany at the House of Undying - its very telling IMO

Maybe that happens and then they start moving around the kingdom and display what a truly destructive force they are ....sort of bring old nan's story to life of a complete white walker takeover.




This scenario would require the story to skip ahead in time. Like the NK takes over KL and turns hundreds of thousands into Whights. Skip to months or years later and we are in the middle of a long night, in the intervening time, he has spread like a virus throughout Westoros and has brought humanity to verge of extinction.

Human population has been reduced to a tiny resistance group a la the Matrix or Terminator.

I don't buy that theory...

I thought it was pretty obvious NK relied on Craster to breed white walkers (his lieutenants) since he can't do that himself...Craster was from a specific bloodline (may have been Targ), all his sons were inbred, meaning they were all pure blood...

As for NK not killing Jon, its known he has the same powers as the 3ER, greensight and can see into the future...At the frozen lake he knew Dany would come save Jon with her dragons, hence why he came prepared to slay one and brought chains with him...Viserion was the prize, Jon was just a pawn...Also note he pretty much let Jon almost drown and NK didn't stop his army from going after Jon...If it wasn't for Benjen Jon would of died at the lake...

Besides 6 episodes for Dany to give birth is beyond retarded...If that was the plan they would of already at least revealed she's pregnant last week...

NK is probably riding south because he finally has an army and because of Bran...The 3ER who is now Bran is his nemesis but could it be even deeper than that...As a desperate final attempt to save the realm could Bran of tried to stop the children from creating NK by warging into the man who would become him (note how the children gagged NK on the tree) and is now stuck as NK? We know young Ned heard Bran and we know somebody was telling the Mad King to "burn them all"...Bran could of been trying to save humanity and the realm all this time but nothing he did changed anything like the OG 3ER told him it wouldn't...Hence why son is looking all depressed and creepy and shyt lately...Maybe as NK he knows he is the key to uniting the houses and saving the realm from destroying itself..,

To add to that son also been looking extra demonic as of late...

Yes, they were traitors. fukk the Tarly's. I don't give a shyt about them. That doesn't make Dany's proposition any less asinine. When else in the show or in life has the loss of a single non-war ending battle meant the enemy survivors had to become traitors or be tortured?

Like I said, in every other instance they're held as prisoners of war.

Dany already said why she didn't take prisoners. She is a new conquering force in Westeros. Everyone that doesn't want to bend the knee will run to the option of being a prisoner. The Starks and Lannisters took prisoners of war as bargaining pieces to get back important members of their respective houses. Just like Dany didn't just fly to Kings Landing with her dragons and wreck shyt because she didn't want to rule over a kingdom of ashes, she doesn't want to rule over a kingdom of prisoners either. There is no position of bargaining when the Lord of a house and his heir both refuse to bend the knee. The Tarly's were set to become the new seat of the Warden of the South. Who is Dany going to bargain his life with? Cersei? You think she gives a fukk if Randyll Tarly lives or dies? You think she's willing to trade anything of equal value to a Warden of Westeros?

I get nikkas chose their houses to rock with and whatever, but the stretches y'all nikkas make to paint Dany as this cold-hearted, insane, dictator are pretty funny
