Have they said anything about splitting book 3 into two seasons or what?

It seems it'll be split into 2 seasons
George R.R. Martin has posted about the Season 3 renewal, and he adds some interesting information: the number and working title of the episode he’ll be writing for that season, while apparently confirming that it’ll be a 10 episode season:

Like the first two seasons, it will be ten episodes long. This one will cover (roughly) the first half or thereabouts of A STORM OF SWORDS, the third novel in the series.

I’ll be writing the seventh episode, with the working title “Autumn Storms.”

What happened to Melissandre? She really just stayed behind, willingly, with her demonic child?
(don't answer if it's a spoiler...just making sure I haven't missed something)
Stannis agreed to leave her wicked ass behind when they sailed off to war.

Wouldn't shock me if Stannis has her stashed somewhere on the ship for the quickies...and emergencies. :smugdraper:

When did they show Payne?

That's him. In that scene he serves Tyrion wine, and says "Thank you, Podrick." Cersei then comments that he's an odd boy after he gave them an awkward stare.

Yeah he left her behind. That shadow thing was a 1 and done thing.

I thought that shadow shyt was supposed to drain Stannis a bit but dude looks healthy as ever in last night's ep. :dwillhuh:

Arya :king: :win:

How is Robb a lame? For fukking the nurse? Wtf  he promised to marry the Frey chick, he didn't break that promise yet. Dude is obviously seen as a big enough threat for Tywin to take the battle to him. nikkas know Young Wolf ain't playing.

Bran is cool. Rikkon too young and hasn't done anything yet. Sansa is a bytch but may redeem herself yet. Sno is naive and gullible but dude is cool.

Don't hate on the Starks breh

Cant wait for next weeks episode.

Oh, I thought that was supposed to be a secret weapon....that's anticlimactic.

I knew Stannis agreed to leave her, she just didn't seem like the type to just accept that.

Granted it wouldn't be anticlimactic if the show made it look like that kind of magic is not healthy for Stannis but they axed that shyt out.

Now there seems to be a plot hole, my brother asked me why Stannis just doesn't mirk all of his main enemies that way?

You have to remember Stannis is a proud and honorable man. He could barely face Davos after Renly was killed when Davos was trying to ask him wtf that shyt was. He wasn't happy that he had to stoop to using sorcery instead of. Winning on the battlefield.

When they were making preparations to sail and Davos told him if Melisandre were with them then the victory would be seen as hers and not Stannis'

So even though he could have her kill his enemie he wouldn't want to be viewed as weak king who won the crown through sorcery instead of battle prowess.'

I recently finished book 2. I'm sure it's mentioned in there. Davos makes a note on how Stannis looks worse for wear appearing to have aged some after Renly's death, dude also had problems staying on his horse while talking to Davos.

:ohhh:

Who was the dude that had the :birdman: face when Stannis took Davos aside to offer him the position of King's Hand?

This dude I mean:

I'm pretty sure that's one of Davos sons. I think that's the one that was with him when he was talking to Salladar Saan. No ideas why he would be ice grilling him like that tho.

Is the Blackwater ep coming on this Sunday or are they taking a break since Memorial Day is this weekend? Taking this week off will mean the season finale airs the night as the True Blood premiere.

No breaks. I don't think HBO has ever taken a mid season break.

Hbo has taken midseason breaks plenty of times with other shows...they're not doing it here though, cuz when they do, they say "in two weeks" in the promo after the show
