You don't know what a contradiction is do you? You were probably thinking "oh i have something here..." but sorry you don't..

From my postings it's clear that i want Manchin to get outta here but it's also clear that there is nothing else that can be done right now. both things are true.

if he can be 'pressured' then let's see it.. if that talking point of 'pressure' is all just a cute talking point then this entre agenda is going nowhere.
You said, “you can work with Manchin” and then moved too, “you can’t work with Manchin.”

By the way @mastermind is the guy who keeps saying "pressure Manchin" in all these threads and he's yet to answer how that is supposed to happen when he's a dino in West Virginia. What are you supposed to do if Manchin balks?

People like Mastermind don't want to post solutions to these problems. it's far easier to say "do nothing Dems" and "weak Dems". And "dems don't want it"

Answer what Joe and leadership are supposed to do about Manchin when he doesn't fall in line. it's a 50/50 split. Give the solution or shut up lol.

No. i said i was told by people who studied his voting record and his past. That's not an untruth. We've never seen Manchin in a position where he is holding the cards and he is. So if he's showing that he cannot be worked with then that's different than the impression i got. it's also different to what you've said because you are the one saying "pressure" without offering the solution.

how big is the Manchin issue? It's proven... thus far.. to be an issue.

I’m not an Democratic Party member that was elected to the US Senate, so miss me with this shyt.

If they don’t believe in pushing Manchin then they are complicit.

Your post made it seem like you were one of those.

The real thing I’m pointing out is you have no idea what you are talking about most of the time. Just sit back and follow the convo and jump in when you can impact the convo.

How are they complicit? That's the argument here.. i'm not saying there isn't something that can be done but i'm not in these rooms and you aren't either. how do you know they aren't pushing? kamala appearing on WV TV and then the governor putting forth that same message seemed like a push to me...

The issue is they aren’t seriously interested in an increase in the minimum wage. We’ve watched the Republicans trample on rules during their reign of terror, meanwhile the Dems are saying “but the rules.”

Biden gave the game up a few weeks ago when he said the parliamentarian rules won’t allow a minimum wage increase in a reconciliation Bill. The Dem leadership aren’t that interested in this.

i didn't take that statement at face value as you did. i took it to mean he doesn't have the votes. if they bypass the parliamentarian nobody will give a shyt except FOX News. i don't disagree with that part of it. But then they still need Manchin and Sinema. it could be a mistake to put them on record as killing the $15 because

A) the headline reads "Dems break with Biden on $15"

B) they still need Manchin on $1400 and legislation down the line

So i took that BS about the parliamentarian to mean that "we don't have the votes"

You cant get Manchin and Sinema to do shyt unless you challenge them. Thats what I always think. If they want to break ranks and side with the GOP, then call it what it is and start cultivating primary challengers.

that can work in AZ but in WV it's just going to be a Republican taking the seat and that's my point from before. if he was going to live up to his track record then ok.. it's not great but it's something. But now if he's not even going to do THAT.. then it's a big big problem. i'm not in the rooms so i can't say what is being said. hopefully it's posturing.

At a certain point, the Dems have to call Sinema's and especially Manchin's bluffs. His own Republican governor wants a big stimulus, and his own constituents in West Virginia support a $15 minimum wage. Sinema sent out a tweet earlier today saying congress 'isn't doing its job' when it came to passing a new Violence Against Women Act, but is adamant about keeping the filibuster in place so congress can't do its job.

If Dems are serious about this agenda, push it and dare Manchin and Sinema to vote it down. Biden already sent Kamala to the media in WV and AZ, do it again until they get the fukking message.

Anything less is being complicit because they want Manchin and Sinema to obstruct so they can get nothing done. :yeshrug:

Everyone saying, "The parliamentarian is irrelevant" are ignoring the fact that even the GOP didn't ignore the parliamentarian during the trump reign when they could have pushed all sorts of crazy shyt those first two years. Considering how easy the GOP could get congress back in the short term I'm not excited about opening that pandora's box now.

I mean even if you did it you'd have to pray that all the conservative dems stayed on board despite guys like Manchin not really wanting a $15 minimum wage AND having the defiance of the parliamentarian as a double excuse not to support it. So in reality you'd probably not only set the precedent of defying the parliamentarian, you'd also lose the entire stimulus package and look like incompetent fools to the whole country while failing to bring Covid relief. Just sounds like a great way to take a giant L.
