so a video chat app called duo, split screen and quick reply? kind of lackluster updates for the phone. running apps without downloading them is convenient i guess.
"vulcan" is the best upgrade to these phones since it'll allow developers to adjust the phone's gpu for better graphics.
daydream looks like a very promising VR platform. IMAX is gonna be nice.
google going to break into the gaming industry in a couple of years? the new headset + controller and "vulcan" says yeah
allo even with the new google assistant is eh. the only advantage i see with this is google have the resources to make it more powerful than other messaging apps but we heard this with hangouts and they pretty much gave up on it after a couple of years.
i was hoping for more info on self-driving cars and AI but google assistant and waze being built into android auto is a good first step. seems like they're taking their time with little steps to get it right. google is typically quick to throw stuff out hoping something sticks but i'm glad they're going slow and steady, i prefer this approach more.
i really like google home and its potential. amazon echo has been out longer so it has a head start but google has nest, a mobile OS and a lot more daily services in place to really bring a smart home experience to ppl.
just another year of small updates to set up their big plan of having all android devices communicate and work with each other. the only problem is they have so many apps that work with google voice and on tap that this new assistant will add more confusion to their "assistant." they need to somehow unite everything into one. throwing new stuff on top of old stuff is just creating a big mess.
