Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu says Israel has "interesting intel" on the location of Iran's 60% enriched uranium, following the US strikes on Iran's nuclear sites last night.
Uranium needs to be enriched to 90% to be used in a nuclear weapon. The UN's nuclear watchdog, the IAEA, says Iran has around 400kg of 60% enriched uranium, external.
A "senior Iranian source" told the Reuters news agency on Sunday that most of the highly enriched uranium at the Fordo nuclear plant had been moved before the US attack.
Asked about the uranium's whereabouts on Sunday, Reuters reports that Netanyahu said: "We've been following that very closely. I can tell you that it's an important component of a nuclear programme.
"It's not the sole component. It's not a sufficient component. But it is an important component and we have interesting intel on that, which you will excuse me if I don't share with you."

US President Donald Trump’s decision to launch direct strikes against Iranian nuclear sites has sparked a wave of anger in the country, with people on the streets of Tehran telling CNN they expect their country to strike back.

“Iranian people are people of honor, and we will definitely give a strong response,” one man told CNN. “We will stand strongly like we have been for the past 40 years,” he added.

Large crowds gathered at the Enqelab Square in central Tehran on Sunday evening, protesting the strikes. Footage published by the state-affiliated Fars News Agency showed people waving Iranian flags and punching the air, carrying signs that read: “Down with the USA, down with Israel.”

Hamid Rasaee, a politician, said even critics of the regime were protesting.

“A lot of those standing here chanting slogans against the United States may have been critics of the policies of the Islamic Republic. But today all of us are standing in one line behind the supreme leader,” he told CNN.

Israel, US strikes result of ‘politically motivated actions’​

Iran’s ambassador to the UN, Ali Bahreini, has been addressing the UN Security Council.
Israeli and US attacks on Iran did not come about “in a vacuum”, Bahreini said, adding that they are the result of “politically motivated actions” of the US and its European partners.
Israel decided to “destroy diplomacy” when it struck Iran, two days ahead of nuclear talks that were set to take place between Iran and the US, Bahreini said.
While the West expects Iran to return to the negotiating table, he said, how can it return to something “it never left”.
The NPT has been “manipulated into a political weapon … exploited as a pretext for aggression and unlawful action”, Bahreini said.

Trump appears to call for regime change​

In a post on his Truth Social account, Trump has said that “it’s not politically correct to use the term, ‘Regime Change,’ but if the current Iranian Regime is unable to MAKE IRAN GREAT AGAIN, why wouldn’t there be a Regime change???”
“MIGA!!!” he added, apearing to refer to Make Iran Great Again, a play on his Make America Great Again (MAGA) slogan.
The post signifies a shift for the Trump administration, with the White House repeatedly claiming Washington is not seeking to overthrow Iran’s government.
