Trump directed staff to announce 2-week window to conceal Iran attack plans, sources say​

President Donald Trump had been leaning heavily toward taking US military action in Iran for several days when he issued a directive to his senior aides: Tell the press he would make a decision on whether to act within two weeks, as a way to obscure his true thinking.

The president had been frustrated by coverage that suggested he had made a final decision on striking Iranian nuclear sites and he thought a two-week timeline could throw off the Iranians and conceal his plans, according to several sources familiar with what happened.

Trump made the call to issue the statement Thursday as he was set to have lunch with his former adviser Steve Bannon, who had been publicly skeptical of US involvement. Shortly after, his press secretary, Karoline Leavitt, walked into the White House briefing room and followed the president’s orders, signaling to the world that Trump’s mind wasn’t made up yet.

I think the simple truth is that this admin and especially Trump have a very simple strategy of basic deception. I mean Trump has said himself various times that not being deceptive is dumb. Such as when news reports on military movement or when previous leaders announced their intentions ahead of time. Thing is I don’t necessarily disagree with this on principle but it seems this belief of his is never really considered by the media and they just report every word out of his mouth when this dude is known to lie his ass off.

The news media out of fear of being biased will never call this out and will simply be a mouth piece of the government unintentionally. But after he said he was going to make a decision in two weeks, I knew he would probably attack in way less than two weeks. The media is easily played by this guy but the thing is it doesn’t take much brain power if you arent just a puppet of government propaganda to tell this was the most likely play.

He is simpleton but the media is dumber. It is simple. If he says he is going to talk he will attack. If he says he will attack all of sudden some phone call happened and he made a great deal and saved the day. It is as easy as that.

Israeli officials signaled Sunday that the country is prepared to halt its military campaign against Iran if Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei ceases hostilities and seeks a resolution to the conflict.

The comments came hours after the U.S. struck Iran's primary nuclear facilities, following more than a week of sustained Israeli attacks on targets across the Islamic Republic. According to Israeli assessments, the American strike caused extensive damage. The Natanz facility is believed to have been destroyed, while those in Fordow and Isfahan suffered serious hits.

Security sources in Israel estimate that hundreds of kilograms of enriched nuclear material were destroyed in the attacks. “If tomorrow Khamenei stops the fire and says he wants to end this — we will accept that,” an Israeli official said.
Despite the initial assessments, Israeli officials stressed that the full impact of the American strike has yet to be independently verified. “The defense establishment believes the Iranians were unable to remove significant quantities of enriched material ahead of the strike,” one official said. “At most, they managed to extract a small amount. Trump says US strikes caused ‘monumental damage’ at Iran nuclear sites​

The US president is dismissing Iranian attempts to downplay the damage from Sunday’s strikes.
“Monumental Damage was done to all Nuclear sites in Iran, as shown by satellite images. Obliteration is an accurate term!” he wrote in a post on Truth Social.
“The biggest damage took place far below ground level. Bullseye!!!”
As we’ve been reporting, Iran is yet to reveal the extent of the damage caused to its nuclear facilities. Satellite images of the heavily fortified Fordow site, however, show damage at three locations: two craters resulting from bunker-busting bombs, and a damaged air defence site designed to shield the nuclear reactor.
Rafael Grossi, the head of the International Atomic Energy Agency told an emergency session of the UN Security Council earlier today that the real damage to Fordow, which is located deep underground, remains unknown.
