US strikes in Iran degraded Iran's ability to develop a nuclear weapon, US ambassador tells UN

From CNN’s Hira Humayun
The US strikes in Iran over the weekend degraded Iran’s ability to develop nuclear weapons, the US ambassador to the United Nations told the Security Council Tuesday.

“On June 21st, a US precision operation effectively fulfilled our narrow objective: to degrade Iran’s capacity to produce a nuclear weapon,” Dorothy Shea said.

The strikes were in line with the “inherent right to collective self-defense” and aimed to mitigate the threat Iran posed to the region, Shea said.

House briefing on Iran moved to Friday after White House postpones for "evolved circumstances"

From CNN's Alayna Treene and Alison Main
House Speaker Mike Johnson said House members will receive a classified briefing Friday on the situation in Iran after it was postponed on Tuesday.

“I have just confirmed with the White House that the classified bipartisan briefing for all House Members will now be held on Friday. Senior Administration officials will present the latest information pertaining to the situation involving Israel and Iran. Details to follow,” Johnson said on X.

The White House on Tuesday cited “evolved circumstances” in the Middle East for its decision to delay previously scheduled congressional briefings with intelligence officials regarding the Israel-Iran conflict and US strikes on Iranian nuclear facilities.

“Due to evolved circumstances as a result of recent positive developments in the Middle East, the previously scheduled briefings for Senators is being postponed to this Thursday,” the White House said in a statement.

Also if the facility was really that badly damaged you’re not going to get an assessment within 3 days to even a week unless it’s absolutely destroyed :mjlol::heh:

If it’s however aesthetically or superficially damaged you can get a better read that things are functioning quicker.

Think of how big that facility is. Someone saying it’s been devastated after 2 hours because of satellite images is very unreliable.

Great job, everyone:

The early findings conclude that the strikes over the weekend set back Iran’s nuclear program by only a few months, the officials said.

Before the attack, U.S. intelligence agencies had said that if Iran tried to rush to making a bomb, it would take about three months. After the U.S. bombing run and days of attacks by the Israeli Air Force, the report by the Defense Intelligence Agency estimated that the program was delayed less than six months.

Former officials said that any rushed effort by Iran to get a bomb would be to develop a relatively small and crude device. A miniaturized warhead would be far more difficult to produce, and it is not clear how much damaged to that more advanced research has taken place.

The findings suggest that President Trump’s statement that Iran’s nuclear facilities were obliterated was overstated, at least based on the initial damage assessment. Congress had been set to be briefed on the strike on Tuesday, and lawmakers were expected to ask about the findings of the assessment, but the session was postponed. Senators are now set be briefed on Thursday.
The report also said much of Iran’s stockpile of enriched uranium was moved before the strikes, which destroyed little of the nuclear material. Some of that may have been moved to secret nuclear sites maintained by Iran.

Only thing this "war" accomplished was pushing Iran towards a nuclear weapon, getting the world on their side, making the US look (more) stupid, and Israel with a much smaller skyline. All for setting back their nuclear program by a few months.

In addition to the meaningless deaths.

There are no winners in war. But Iran gained more than it lost.

  • It now knows who will come to its aid
  • It has justification for not trusting the west or adhering to NPA
  • The Ayatollah and President are wildly popular
  • It can now enrich its uranium and build a bomb (with crystal clear reasoning why)
  • Its enemy is weakened
  • Its enemies allies are isolating it

The lesson is to maybe not blindly believe and follow Israel

Can't wait for that genocidal state to die

Iran gained nothing.

Militarily, Israel is still top dog in that region and Iran can’t do anything about beside launch missiles. No military damage was done to Israel compared to Iran. This was proven first 1-2 days of the conflict.

Iran is just a paper tiger if all said and done.
