This is chess. US were just about to broker a deal with Iran so they didn't complete their nuclear program.

Israel strikes

US doesn't interfere, it shows Iran they never gave a damn--they complete the program under the guise of self preservation

US does interfere, Israel doubles down and we sever ties to them and alienate the Apac.

If they don't do anything and kill the deal, we STILL don't want Iran with nukes. So now we eventually get involved begrudgingly because of blood thirsty Israel
