I may be wrong, but I’d be absolutely shocked if Iran attacks a U.S. military base. That is the worst decision Iran could make.

Iran retaliated for the killing of Gen. Qassem Soleimani by firing more than a dozen ballistic missiles at two Iraqi air bases housing U.S. forces on Wednesday local time.

Washington and Tehran both confirmed that Iran was the source of the missiles. The extent the damage was unclear.

Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei said the strikes were a "slap in the face" to the U.S. and not sufficient retaliation for the killing of Soleimani, a top general, last week.

In a White House address, President Donald Trump said: "No Americans were harmed in last night's attack by the Iranian regime. We suffered no casualties. Our great American forces are prepared for anything. Iran appears to be standing down."

He had earlier tweeted "all is well!" and "so far, so good!"

US Senator Graham says bombing was ‘the right call’

United States Senator Lindsey Graham has taken to social media to praise Trump’s decision to bomb three Iranian nuclear facilities.
“Good. This was the right call. The regime deserves it,” Graham posted on X. “To my fellow citizens: We have the best Air Force in the world. It makes me so proud.”
“Fly, Fight, Win.”

Honestly I’m not sure. I think she would have got a new deal done.

However does that stop Israel from striking still? Or do you think the public backlash would have been too much. America has shown zero resistance to being the clean up man
My thought is the Obama deal with Iran WORKED! The problem with Trump is he has made deals and later said they sucked. He tears the shyt up and bashes it publically.

A second loss would be taken like a national rebuke to Trump and his ilk and assuming shyt still popped off, we would actually have our Jag officers Trump fired, the entire military structure he upended, we wouldn't have bytch ass Tulsi and that white supremacist Hegseth at the helm. There would be way more comfort in negotiating with Kamala in that environment than what we have no which is a President who seems to change his mind based on the last person he saw that day.

I specifically mention the military infrastructure because whatever happens going forward, we don't have Gen. Millies and whatnot to push back. We don't have decades of experience and layers of people to protect us and others from Trumps worst impulses. Israel may have struck anyway but you would not have two leaders trying to stay out of prison (Bibi and Trump) deciding to fukk people up on strongman shyt. We would at least, whether we agreed with their positions or not, trust that the commander and the military are run by rational people who aren't trying to make a fukking dollar off of everything.

White House officials feel strikes were "effective," analyst says

From CNN's Rhea Mogul
White House officials feel the US strikes on Iranian nuclear sites were “very effective,” CNN global affairs analyst Brett McGurk has said.

“They feel that the strike was very effective,” said McGurk, who has served in senior national security positions under presidents George W. Bush, Barack Obama, Donald Trump and Joe Biden.

He added he had spoken to a senior administration official about the strikes.

McGurk said the senior administration official “made the point, I think importantly, they are speaking to regional leaders and to Iran that this is it. This is about the nuclear program. This is not an expanded campaign. They still want to get back to the path of a diplomatic arrangement.”

The United States will not financially recover from a war with Iran.

This would be an empire ending event, meanwhile China gets to chill and continue grow their country and economy. This would solidify China as the global hegemonic superpower for the next century.

Get ready to die for Israel military brehs.

Analysis: US strikes mark a stunning demonstration of military might and presidential power

Analysis from CNN's Stephen Collinson
President Donald Trump’s attack on Iran’s nuclear sites is both a stunning demonstration of US military might and unilateral presidential power.

Other presidents chose not to take this step, in the belief that such action could ignite a full-on war with Iran. But the Middle East has changed — Israel has dismantled many of the Iranian proxies that it would have used to fight back.

By attacking Iran’s known nuclear sites, the president has attempted to fully eradicate Tehran’s nuclear program for good.

Theses are the big questions now:

  • How will Iran respond? Does it have the will and the remaining capacity to attack US bases and interests, or even US civilians, in the Middle East or elsewhere?
  • How successful were the strikes — especially those at the subterranean Fordow site? Will the US need to go back with more bombing raids that could make a prolonged war more likely?
  • How will Trump’s gamble play out politically? He ignited a new conflict without seeking approval from Congress, after ignoring US allies or preparing the American people.
  • What will the political impact be in Iran? The attacks are a shattering blow to Iran’s clerical leaders. Could the attacks unleash forces that could trigger a toppling of the revolutionary regime or even a splintering of the country that could send shockwaves throughout the region?
