Israel knew their limitations in not having bunker busting weaponry. Which was the tooling they needed to attack the nuclear facilities. It was not a surprise their weapons couldn’t penetrate the mountains, it was well known they would have asked for military support. It is not the humans element of the IRGC being destroyed and easily placed that is the biggest outcome here. But the ease of it happening in 2 days. Israel have suffered no military losses, Mossad has infiltrated Iran from a ground, technology and personnel level. IAF have willfully flown sorties in their country with not plane shot down, let alone a bullet being fired.

It was not because they were losing control, to the extent the Ayatollah was dead to rights and this war would have been finished with a different outcome.

They have always been allowed enriched uranium. It’s the amount of it and the enrichment levels that are the issue.

Yes they will probably rebuild, and we will be here again in 5 years, because Iran has a civilian nuclear program which will be under scrutiny with or without an agreement.

It’s like saying you cannot bake a cake, even though you have a kitchen, eggs, flour and other ingredients. You will always have the ability to bake a cake, but for now you’re just making scramble eggs, bread and cookies. It is impossible to completely stop the threat of weapon grade uranium being developed, but I can keep blowing up your kitchen as soon as I know you have got the icing sugar and sprinkles out - which is what we have witnessed. Israel have said they have set the Iranian nuclear weapon (or general) program back 3 years and they have sent a message to Iran that it could get worse for them if they continue.

The loss of the nuclear material is an issue if it is found to be actually exported. But they cannot continue to enrich that and more uranium if the facilities are destroyed. So if this buys the west time for a proper agreement, then that is good. I am not sure it was worth it though.
