Apathy’s a Tragedy & Boredom is a Crime
I loved this
Joaquin fully lived and breathed Arthur Fleck, every uncomfortable foray into public, every awkward laughing fit that looked painful, every time he spoke like he was afraid to hear his own voice, it felt like a real person on screen. There wasn’t a wasted scene in this movie, every single scene served a purpose. Whether it was to flesh out Arthur, show off Gotham and it’s inhabitants, or build to the finale. The city was so lively and played the perfect background to inhabit this character and help give birth to what he’d become, you can believe that his circumstances in that setting would drive him to madness. And that score
perfectly added to every scene and elevated the tension, drama, the creeping dread and insanity that built to a fever pitch. I can’t say enough good things, I fukked with this so heavy
