Ohio State just lost to Rutgers

Chris Mullin![]()

That is why Mullin was hired. He's one of us (as in the city)
That said, too many major recruits from this area get told to leave if possible. We just suggest St. John's if you wanna stay local.
That doesn't make sense though. I believe outside of Marcus Lovett the whole starting five is from NYC.
SHAMORIE ( Brooklyn)
Ahmed ( Bronx)
Yawke ( Yonkers)
Owens ( Queens), but moved to Maryland at age 16.
Mullins from Flatbush he's not for the bs. He would have fukked someone up![]()

I'm not even talking about scouts. I'm talking about people close to them. We wanted Bashir to go to St. John's but that's because we knew that was as good as it could get for him and he missed home. Remember Adonis De La Rosa? The big kid who went to St. John's but transferred? We wanted him there, but only because we knew that was best case scenario. If he was a higher recruit, a lot of family and friends just suggest getting out of the city for a while.I never heard scouts say don't go to SJU, these kids from NYC always leave before high school so its no chance to recruit them.
I didn't say they couldn't recruit locally (if anything a lot of their teams have had local talent, but not the major major guys. Even Shamorie was basically choosing St. John's over Creighton, Minnesota and Providence.) I'm talking recruits more on the level of Isaiah Washington and Hamidou Diallo. Anyone with sense was basically telling them "there's no real point in you staying unless you really wanna put on for the city." If you DO stay, it's either St. John's or if you're a lesser recruit, Fordham.
EDIT: before you shyt on Isaiah's rank, I don't know who he pissed off but he's heavily disrespected in rankings.
Bashir was at a JUCO in the middle of nowhere before he came back. I've seen all these kids when they were at Dyckman. St. John's and Seton Hall put it major work recruiting the kids who work the streetball circuits every summer. I appreciate their efforts.
at people in the arena wondering what Bojangles is...I'm still mad they show Sonic commercials here like there's one on every cornerAm I the only one who was watching the ACC tournament games in Brooklyn laughing at them having them Bojangles' signs on the scorers' table and the basket? There was only one Bojangles in Brooklyn, and that lasted a minute before it got closed down....at people in the arena wondering what Bojangles is...
