Was just saying this in this thread last week. It’s not just Jim’s dusty funky ass, a lot of people stopped jackin Nas when he got “enlightened”, so to speak. They wanted the ignorance, the drug dealer mafioso street shhit, they love it. It’s like people don’t understand the concept of “growing up” and what happens, mentally, during that process. If you think about it there has always been an Anti-Nas sentiment in hip hop as soon as he emerged. Hip Hop has a love and hate relationship with him. He mixed street shyt with more enlightened, looking at life from a big picture from the beginning and then gradually leaned more and more to an enlightened perspective. Jay Z's whole angle on Nas "Smarten up Nas", "you trying to kick knowledge", "is it Oochie Wally or One Mic" was not coming from nowhere. Haters were speaking like this on Nas from the beginning.
