AZ always held it down…or nah? To me, Nas owes him, for the loyalty…even when they probably were having some friction, AZ never spoke foul…unlike all the others. Not “owe” him but you know what I mean, do a project with him or sumn, let him tour with you, etc… AZ so solid he probably doesn’t even really care about all that, he seems to be doing just fine

They had some moments where they voiced frustrations with the other. I think it's more misunderstandings than anything else. Like at one point AZ was saying Nas don't return his calls and Nas was like I got five phone numbers for son and they all disconnected :mjlol:

Probably one of those things where they so similar they gonna butt heads sometimes. I think there was a period where AZ wanted the joint album to happen and felt Nas could have made it happen but didn't. But AZ doing guest appearances at these orchestra concerts and performed at the MSG show so seem like they in a good place again.

Nas literally made AZ’s career. Put him on the greatest Hip Hop album of all time. Guested on not one, but TWO songs on AZ’s debut album, one of them being a single. Put AZ on The Firm album, which is to this day the best selling project attached to his name. Was on AZ’s second album, his fourth album, and the song from the 4th album garnered AZ his only Grammy nomination.

After all that how much more does Nas “owe” another grown ass man? AZ stood by and let Nas go up against Jay-Z & the entire Roc-A-Fella camp PLUS Dip Set for DOLO. AZ ain’t never said a word when nikkas got in they feelings over the Hip Hop is Dead album title and were calling Nas everything but a child of God over a misunderstanding regarding his intentions. AZ ain’t never said a word when Nore, 50 Cent, Jim Jones, NY Oil, or 21 Savage had negative things to spew about Nas over the years. AZ has only benefited from his association with Nas and what precisely can we point to that makes the association at all of mutual benefit?

Not to mention he didn't warn Nas when he saw that dude about to pull up on him with the blicky in front of the barbershop

I'm just speaking towards the not speaking foul in public, always saying positive things about Nas, etc... Unlike those other guys that were named. Jumping in to help fight Nas' rap battles and other little criticisms is something else, lol, I wouldn't necessarily expect him to do that. Plus, I think if he had a reason to be visible during the time these things were happening he would have spoke in favor of Nas, if asked about it, like he always does.

You forgot, it was probably Nas recommedation that got AZ in "Belly" as well. I'm sure AZ is wild appreciative of what Nas has done for him, I mean I know he is because he says that he is...as a fan tho I just want a project with them two man...or a tour...sumn. If he's gonna do it with anyone I'd want it to be Z. I still remember them nigs wrestling in the Firm Biz video, lol, I just like seeing them two vibe together, classic vibes always.

AZ was featured on the Vegas residency. That doesn't count for anything?

Wow. U like the first nikka I know who didn't like the Rae verse. Neither one?

Neither. The album one is really rambling. The other one felt kinda rushed. Neither are "bad" but the flow just wasn't there to me. Flow is kinda off kilter on the Ghost track too but it works for me on there.

I hear you. I say this all the time about post-like 2012ish Nas and this “rambling” sort of run-on sentence style flow, I know exactly what you’re saying. He wasn’t doing it as much on the Hitboy projects, but I notice on features he really leans into that shhit, 🤣.

I’m just used to it at this point, it’s kinda like Eminem and the double time shhit. I’m sure he has diehard fans who don’t love it but they’ve just come to accept it at this point.

Wait which part of the Rae verse is Nas "rambling" ( by which I think you mean stream of conscious rapping, which he definitely tends to do)?

I think it was actually one of the sharper more dense Nas verses I've heard in years, both versions - but especially the album version. I would suggest reading it as well, it's all by design and the end loops back into the beginning. It's not on the level of, but kind of reminiscent of VERBAL INTERCOURSE, to me - in design, at least.
