One thing I peeped in the Nas reddit comments as people were talking about the album is that Hit Boy has unfollowed Nas on IG. He didnt comment on the album even though I think Nas showed love to the Al/Hit project

I dont know if thats a thing or an issue with them. Dave East did the same thing but he showed love to Nas and commented on the album and I think they cool again

Hope they're aint no issue or static there with Hit and Nas. I remember some dude on twitter a year ago was doing some weird illusion they'll never work again but Hit did release that tribute joint.
Yeah we've been saying for over a year now that there's some weird energy. To be fair Hit did just shout Nas out on his latest album, but then again just did a quick glance and noticed he's following Iggy Azalea but not Nas lol.

Could be a creative break-up, rather than a personal one. They locked in during Covid for a solid 4 years, maybe they just need a break from each other.

(Stan mode): I love Sons, but the Stan in me notices a subtle difference between this and Daughters. Daughters really went into his relationship with Destiny, and through that relationship Nas made a theme song for us brehs with baby girls (my two kids are girls).

With Sons...does he even reference Knight at all? It's very general and ends up going into his own relationship with his mother (which is dope, I LOVED that line about thinking that's him and his mom on the stop signs). He's alluded to it on Lost Tapes II, but I don't think he has much of a relationship with Knight, doesn't Kelis also live in Africa?

Made me wonder (/Stan mode)

Hard to read too much into it, Nas seems to love flipping expectations these days with song titles and concepts going in directions we don't expect. I doubt NYSOM II being a straightforward sequel happens today, which is why part III isn't. Or Magic Johnson being more about his business acumen than hoops and so on.

58 minutes in they talk about the album, Joe mentions that he heard the Demo version of the AZ song, with a different beat (seems like he liked that one better).

Having a crazy ex that won't hesitate to drag his ass to court or air him out in the media probably play a role. Would bet he will speak more openly on that relationship once his son is 18 and child support or custody battles no longer a factor.

I honestly don’t think he can’t right now.
