Official NBA Live 18 Thread

Just played my first game at and you have to be a blind 2k fanboy to not see the potential. at the core this game is much more fundamentally sound than 2k. The footplanting is milessss better, you can actually move slightly instead of flying and sliding away from the offensive players. Secondly the CPU move the ball instead of running isos and zig zagging until you either slide out of position due to the horrible floor planting or a dumb animation occurs. Defense is actually, fun.
The presentation is beautiful and the facescan is def dope and that soundtrack The only issues are shooting is off,animations are off at times although blocking is well done, and faces look bad. But I see the potential. EA is on the right path.

Nah cuz. I'm starting to dislike 2K and I see no potential gameplay wise with Live 18. This shyt is built off the same garbage ass engine from 10 years ago. If they were serious about competing, they would have completely rebuilt the game from the ground by now and they haven't. They keep rehashing the same trash out over and over. 2k does a similar thing, but their game is at least good. There is absolutely no potential for Live.

2k has many animations.. That you just get sucked into doing whether you want to or not... My issue with 2k has been for awhile is player control. So far in Live...I can do exactly what I want. I can't believe I'm typing these words. I'm buying Live. It's a step in the right direction I hope EA stays to course and put pressure on 2K. I'm not going to front I'm not blown away by this DEMO but I am impressed enough to give the game a chance. It's only money fukk it

Sounds like you just prefer 2k style I suppose. You can play blind mind tho my eyes are Wide open.. If logic could read this he'd be the OG posters know what's up. 2k is a great series but they focus too much on graphics and features.

Good point. But sheeeeit 2k is King at getting you stuck and forcing you into animations...So....

The game plays better if you up the speed a bit, the default setting's too slow.

How do you skip cutscenes?

You can't lol, at least not in the demo.

This shyt is common. All game has glitches. But this shyt happens like 5 times a game all over the court. I haven't seen shyt like this in my 2K playing expirence

I haven't played the demo that much so far but glitchy animations wasn't something I noticed a whole lot of, but then again I didn't do that many complicated moves. I play 2K a lot and defenders always teleport, balls phase through defenders arms off cut passes, and a bunch more weird shyt goes on because 2K is notorious for having situations that force unrealistic animations and scenarios

Anybody who says the demo is trash is lying to themselves. At worst its just average, but a huge step in the right direction IMO. I'm not buying it over 2K but if EA keeps it up and 2K stays stagnant, EA will definitely catch up in 2, 3 years time

shyt trash for what it's trying to be and which is sim. It could only be fun if u treat it like NBA jam or street. But if u are someone who prefers their hoops game to mirror the actual product. this game is losing 100 to 10 to 2K. Sig shots from 2K on PS2 look just as good as this game and that's not a troll. Dudes been saying since 14 in 2 or 3 years. shyt not happening. EA devs can't fukk with 2K on the hoops tip

I'm not seeing what people are complaining about. This game is sim as fukk. Calling plays and knocking down a shot off a screen is satisfying. People keep saying it's clunky when their ass can't play angles and take advantage of what the defense gives them
