The Rags missed their chance they aint coming out the east again.

I wouldn't be so sure of that, who do you think is coming out of the east? The Pens? MTL? We are playing well and have lost half our Dmen, no Stepan, they are all coming back slowly. We will be fine ;)

@Prodigal Syndicate let me guess, a sour nucks fan? AV is a very good coach, The Canucks were a mess, Luongo got lazy and tired and your forwards were paper thin.

Av is a garbage coach. Carried by us having a top 5 roster.

He gets constantly outcoached. Doesnt even speak during intermissions. Leaves goalies out to dry. Doesnt know how to make adjusments. Favours grinders and plugs like tanner glass over offensive players.

We would have had a cup without av. I hated him his entire time here.

He rode Brad Richards to the ground in the playoffs and had Dan Girardi's terrible puck handling ass on the power play were two bad moves AV made that assured a Kings cup :scusthov:

Enjoy Torts much?

@K-Apps are you a rangers fan? 2 things... he rode Richards to the ground? No actually Torts did that 2nd time around. Brad gave up looooong ago on the rangers, his new contract suits his age/skill set right now hes a decent deal, for 9m he was a joke. And about your Power Play comment, did you watch us all year? for the past 4 years? We have no power play QB. That is why we picked up Boyle who broke his hand 40minutes into his Rangers career.

Torts was a horrible fit for this team. Doesnt make AV any better. Just watch.

Just wait until you get sick of seeing av chew gum and smugly smile as refs call bullshyt penalties instead of talking to the ref.

Or when he benches a young playmaker for turning over the puck only to watch some plug pkay like shyt all game but get huge minutes.

Of course I am I'm probably one of the biggest ones in the Coli. Richards was done physically by the time the Rangers got to the final, yet AV continued to play him on the PP and as a Top 6 forward, even after Richard kept making terrible mistakes on both ends, some of which led to big Kings goals. Everybody was :mindblown: why didn't AV significantly reduce his minutes or get bench him. Trust me, as long as been a Rangers fan, they haven't never had a competent Power Play, maybe the year after the lockout when Jagr was robbed of a Hart Trophy. Dan Boyle is 38 year Defensemen, he's not gonna make our power play into a good one, actually acquiring/drafting a good great skating offensive defensemen alongside McDonagh would help. Having a good center with size would help too, but that's Sather issue and we all know that wouldn't resolved soon.

Too early to say but avs have been surprisingly bad. Wouldnt be surprised they missed the playoffs.

Maybe stastny meant more to the team than previously thought. Iggy made a bad choice.

I think islanders will make the offs and get bounced first round. But def a team on the rise

Iginla will be traded to east, he thought that Colorado was a team on the rise and was going to compete with Chicago, LA, STL...in reality they are far from contenders, horrible defense :scust:

He wont win a cup if he stays in COL.

I hope the Habs get him, we need a legitimate top 6 rw. And he would make sure to help us get to the finals.

And he would add more black excellence to our team :birdman: :smugfavre: :win:

@Prodigal Syndicate coming from the Keenan/Torts systems I am ok with AV, my only concern is he leaves goalies exposed. Hank would easily lead the league in wins/gaa/so every year in a different system, He is in my mind 1a/1b in the league (I will never disrespect big game quick) but AV's wide open system is bad for him and I feel bad because his numbers a bit inflated and stands on his head, but then again we do score goals every once in a while and coming from Tort's type of style, I welcome AV 100%. Fact is he led us to the Eastern Conference Finals, and with 1 month left in the season, name 1 person who thought that was a possibility. Unfortunately we need a couple more pieces, we are fine up front, if only we had 1 more Dman who can actually lead a break out.

@K-Apps as a ranger fan to a ranger fan I will agree to disagree

#1 Boyle knows how to QB a power play, he did last year at 37, he can this year at 38. It's not about him scoring 20ppg but more so being on the blue line as our only D man yet have him look like a tree/tard (cough Girardi, I love him, but he should not be on the PP unit let alone our QB...ever) Boyle will make our PP much better.

#2 Richard done physically by the time we got to the finals? The finals? Seriously did you watch the regular season? Hell did you watch the 2012 season? Yes he would sprinkle in the random huge goal, but he was a cardboard cutout for almost 2 seasons, he was not a Top 5 player like he was getting paid to be. He was done WAY before the final's I went to every home playoff game and I lost my voice because you wouldn't even know he was on the damn ice or even played if you weren't paying attention to the game.

Based on our injuries and suspensions I think we are sitting pretty well at 7-6. Stepan being back is huge, especially for our PP. We just need to get our D healthy and we will be fine. No one is running away with the East. Tampa/NYI (though Tavares ALWAYS kills us) don't scare me. Pitt is soft, My only concern is Boston and MTL. McDonagh being out scares the hell out of me, not only does he play 5/5. PP, PK but he is on the ice for 50% of the game. So far Staal/Girardi has picked up the slack pretty well with their new found icetime. We need McD back and then we can go from there.

You mean the 2013 season, that was all about the whole team turning out and getting sick of Tortorella's grind it out system, Richards had a decent 2012 and 2014 season in the regular season, it was the playoffs where Richards no longer having the ability as a top 6 forward was apparent. Honestly, this year is a transition year to be honest, it's clear that the Rangers want to get younger after all the losses in FA, which I agree with. Even if the Rangers beat the Islanders, Penguins, or Boston/Montreal in the East, they would still be staring down facing teams with much depth than them in the West like LA, Chicago, Anaheim, St. Louis, etc and LA's depth was the big reason they beat the Rangers in the final. I just don't see this Rangers team as a threat to win the cup until they draft better at the center and at offensive D-men and with mediocre special teams like they currently have.
