:dwillhuh: at people saying it's based on the manga, not the movie when the trailer is an exact copy of the original movie.

They're also remaking "Lady Vengeance" and "New World". :snoop:

So the first part is pretty much a cut for cut remake then they split off a bit when he gets released....honestly if this wasn't Spike I'd be shytting on it a lot harder. As it is I don't like the fact that Hollywood's remaking all these Asian movies that were classic in the first place....how long until the I Saw the Devil remake :snoop:

There was a review of a screener that said it was on par with the original.

Of course the trailer for the remake is going to be similar to the original. The trailer is just a preview; they're not gonna give away the differences in the two minute trailer.

The Departed trailer was similar to Infernal Affairs but that turned out to be adifferent (and some would argue better) movie. I like the trailer for Oldboy, and I got faith in Spike to put out a good movie.

:wtf:

Why wouldn't they? shyt makes no sense. They made it a point up to now to try and differentiate the remake by saying it's nothing like the original. Then they release the first trailer....and it's exactly like the original.

What do they have to gain by doing that?

I liked the actor in No Country though :manny:

I like to think of Josh Brolin as the actor from

I haven't paid any interest in this project since it was announced. The concept of Americanizing (does that work?) such a recent movie is baffling to me.

But I was pleasently surpised with the trailer. Not fully convinced though.
