Er I see a big difference, I don't remember dude watching a TV interview of his daughter saying she would open to meeting in the OG. That's not a small detail.

I think the short clip with his "daughter" on TV doing the interview is staged and his daughter is actually the Elizabeth Olsen character we see him fukking in the trailer
I guarantee that's it. The trailer is 90% the exact same scenes except for his daughter randomly saying that.
I feel like people ain't watched the original in years, because some of those scenes are damn near shot-for-shot identical.

I'm a fan of Spike's movies so I'm a lil hyped for this, but yea... the hammer scenes alone were pretty much unique to the Korean version. I seen an interview on youtube where he (Spike Lee) was asked about the original and he basically said it's a 'reinterpretation" of the movie.. Kind of like The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo remake where things are pretty much the same but shot in the directors style and with small changes with characters and the plot. It is what it is what it is.. You're either gonna watch it to see how it is or you not gonna support it at all because you hate remakes of foreign/indy flick
This trailer was made for the aintitcool type crowd who love shock violence that were worried about the violence and other shyt being toned down. At least that's how I see it based on their positive reaction to the trailer..
honestly, I have no problem with American Remakes no matter how much cats complain.
The Departed was awesome, The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo was a billion times better than its Swedish predecessor, and this looks to be a great film as well.

a shot for shot remake is what's hot in the streets? better leave the
incest and tongue cutting in too then. because that's the only way i'll forgive this movie, if it goes all out and shocks the shyt out of average american viewers

You really can't guarantee anything unless you have seen it.
Elizabeth Olsen's character also is hanging with his best friend and getting introduced to Josh Brolin by him. Her charcter is also encouraging him to search for his daughter and clear his name in this trailer. That also wasn't in the original movie. Seems they are fleshing out that getting revenge is a choice not the logical next step after his release.
