If you think you're lonely now, ohhh girl...
* Phoenix was snubbed like a motherfukker.

* Glad to see Jonah get nominated, he deserved it.

* JL didn't deserve a nod. I don't think she will win anyways. I think Lupita will.

* Cauron will probably win best director.

* I keep hearing about Blanchett in Blue Jasmine. I'm about to watch it now.

* I think Leo or Mud will take Best Actor. To be honest, while Chiwetel was good, he wasn't Oscar worthy good to me in that film outside of the ending. I read the book, so I knew what to expect. So, I think my reaction to everything was kind of tempered.

And yeah, it's crazy, but Eddie should definitely have an Oscar for Dreamgirls.

12 Years should've gotten a nom for cinematography

I was going to say the same thing. I'm not even into all that nor have expertise in that but that one thing stood out. 12 Years should win Best Picture and I hope Best Director (havent seen Gravity but Im not big with special effects films)

The Best Actor category was stacked. Any other year Forest Whitaker, Idris Elba, Michael B Jordan, Hugh Jackman and Tom Hanks would've been in for their roles. 12 Years and Wolf were my fav movies... I dunno man I thought Chiwetel was slightly better, I need to watch it again. If anyone has a HD/dvd quality link to it let me know, I saw it in theatre

Best Supporting Jonah I don't think deserved it, I mean he was good but I would've given that to Daniel Bruhl for Rush... the man went off. I liked Jonah more in Moneyball. Rush got snubbed.. shouldve had a best picture nomination. Jared Leto gon get it but I hope Barkhad Abdi does which is the biggest longshot. nikka got a nomination but Tom Hanks didn't... this nikka was a limo driver who just answered a casting call on TV :wow:

Anybody got a DVD quality link to American Hustle? I need to see what all this biz about. How can JLaw (who I like) be better than Lupita?

The best lead performance this year was Isaiah Washington in Blue Caprice.. And then the other two were Oscar Isaac (Inside Llewyn Davis) and Joaquin Phoenix (Her).. I havn't seen Dallas Buyers Club yet.. so I can't rate it..

I'm not at all surprised Isaiah didn't get nominated with the supposed controversy.. even tho it happened 6-7 years ago..... but the other 2 kind of shocked me as they not only gave strong performances, but they were in movies directed by great/oscar friendly directors.

Eddie fukked up his own chances when he decided to release THIS about a month before the Oscars...

:snoop:

Anyways, my other thoughts.

I so want Lupita to win, but because Jennifer Lawrence is now America's new favorite white princess, she'll win here, even though I've seen her put on WAY better performances than in SLP or AH. :upsetfavre:

Can they stop fukking around the bush and finally give my boy Leo his Oscar? It's fukking 20 years in the making. :ohlawd:

Not that surprised that Fruitvale and The Butler got shut out. Can't be having TOO MANY good black films in one year, huh Academy? :patrice:

And as for Best Picture, I'll taker either Wolf of Wall Street or 12 Years, because I think they have overhyped the shyt out of American Hustle, and it's causing me to not like it. So with that, give me WoWS or 12YaS.:lupe:

...that would be Hollywood's version of reparation:patrice:

I was actually thinking about why it could win best picture, it is a good movie first of all, way better than American Hustle, second them Hollywood old cacs love movies like this. The racist ones love them slave movies, and if they give it the Oscar this time, they don't have to give any movie with predominantly black cast an Oscar for at least 25 years. Also, Brad Pitt is involved, and he I am sure he is putting in the work behind the scenes to get this movie up there. If it wins best picture, he gets credit too, because he is executive producer. Don't get it twisted, them Oscars is political.

Rush is the most underappreciated flick of 2013

Still suprised hanks didnt get in for last scene of captain but the academy probably figured hes won enough

That's the thing, everyone who talks about Hanks' performance talks about the last scene, which is definitely some of the best acting this year but as a whole, his performance throughout the movie wasn't that noteworthy.
