WWE Raw ratings are in – was it more of the same or worse? | PWTorch

WWE drew a 2.33 rating, the third straight week in it was under 2.4. They opened with 3.5 million viewers, then dropped below 3.2 million, and closed with a third hour under 3.1 million. We’ll have a more detailed story updated with more stats later today, so check back.

--------------

WWE Raw rating for the October 12 edition

Monday's WWE Raw scored a 2.33 rating, down from the 2.35 rating the show drew last week. Raw averaged 3.284 million viewers, down from the 3.378 million average from last week.

Powell's POV: The Monday Night Football game produced 12.182 million viewers for ESPN, and two MLB playoff games drew nice numbers for TBS while serving as competition for another lackluster Raw show. The October 13, 2014 edition of Raw delivered a 2.73 rating with 3.751 million viewers.

They have their own Network. Countless hours of TV every week. They have tons of legends who've drawn money working for them in some capacity. Basically the entire wrestling business at their disposal. And yet somehow they're okay with the garbage they put out every week that's drawing less and less as time goes by. Shameful.

Their original dip in the ratings happened around 2002-03, the tail end of the Attitude Era because The Rock and Austin were no longer full time and they had no competition, no motivation..

The Ruthless Aggression Era started off a bit slow but it picked up and they were steady. They had some peaks and valleys but it seemed like they were always around 3.5 or so.

The second dip started around mid 2011 it seemed. That's when you started to see them below 3.0 more often. I remember it being a big cause for concern but when you factor in DVR and USA making them shift to 3 hours and people cutting cable.. It was maybe not as big of a deal as people made it out to be.

THIS, however.. is a big issue. It was only maybe a year ago that they were still doing over 4 million viewers, sometimes 5 million viewers. When I see numbers like a little over 3 million viewers.. that's not good at all. They should be fukking worried.
