Trump going super saiyan solidified the base leaving their elected reps in a bind. They now cant defect because they're chicken shyt, the ones who have cant go back and are now stuck in purgatory.
Mitch McConnell in all his wisdom knew holding the party together during the base's tantrum was their only chance of survival
Trump basically split the party rendering it obsolete. The think tankers may snipe on the side but how do the McCain's and Mike Lee's crawl back, they booed Ryan in his hometown
If they were brave they would all defect take that L from their base and pray that a time would come when they could reconstitute, but that aint gonna happen.
So the GOP is essentially Trump's party which means its policies will derive from internet comments...schadenfreude doesn't do this justice.
