Haven't seen the first one but it's safe to assume that they're going to make this into some kind of mini cinematic universe? Maybe crossover mario? Throw in Shadow at some point? Mega sonic? Other chaos emeralds?

They can’t crossover with Mario because universal has the film rights to Mario but they’re definitely going to do metal sonic or shadow next

Hopefully they do Metal Sonic or Chaos next, they can keep Shadow IMO. If it's anything like the games then Shadow would just steal Knuckles spot.

Sonic 2 looks to be a mix of the games Sonic 2 and Sonic 3 mixed with a little Sonic Adventure since it takes place on earth. I’m hoping Metal Sonic is who they all team to fight at the end after Knuckles switches sides

They can give us Shadow in the 3rd movie

Some of these scenes reminded me of the Ice Cap and Lava Reef Zones. This movie is lowkey trying to awaken my videogame PTSD.
