Yeah tig couldn't, pope wanted him alive and in jail getting his ass beat by blacks every day. However tig didn't even volunteer dude was a coward on some what we gonna do next, I could tell chibbs realized he was prob up next if you watch that scene closely. Chibbs knew that Opie was being groomed as the leader and no way jax was gonna be that dude going in so it was chibbs, but Opie like a soldier laid down his life.

It looked like Jax was about to go for the fight until Opie got in the way but it did look like Chibbs was a candidate for a minute, he was looking real
before Opie jumped in.I feel like in the real world Opie would have let Jax sacrifice himself. I wonder how salty nikkas would get to watch the show without Jax.
