i dont see how he wins this from an objective standpoint. maybe he will :skip:

It's not about making them disappear. It's about opting not to collect. Which the Dept of Ed does all the time.

The government loses money but it isn't a business.

It's not spending.

The two most common: PSLF forgives debt after 10 years of payments.

Income Driven-Repayment (IDR) forgives debt after I believe 20 years.

And then you have those who are disabled getting their debt forgiven. Defrauded borrowers in the last 2 years have gotten tens of billions wiped away.

The HERO's Act has forgiven student debt before.

The only difference right now is the volume. 16M applications are in.
