I seriously doubt Turkey anticipated that the army would collapse and they’d march on Damascus barely opposed. Their attempts at reconciling with Assad just the past few months strongly suggest that.

HTS has been smart in not exacting revenge on groups loyal to Assad including Kurds

the concern for the kurds is SNA not HTS. SNA are attacking the SDF positions in Manbij rn. meanwhile i think HTS and SDF have been coordinating and might try to negotiate an agreement, but SNA will be totally against that.
