In the comics he does not know why butcher has a personal beef with him until the end. Which he does not remember because he never did anything to butchers wife.

Same here. But from the spoilers I've read I'm getting the impression that all the characters are more complex on the show than in the books. So I think some of the shocking twists might not even be necessary on the show.
