Indeed but I was talking about his political situation in september '23 when his judicial reform was met with Israel's biggest protests and his corruption trial was on the way.
You had moderate rightwing politicians calling for his removal, Biden publicly siding against him, thousands of reservists refusing to serve, he was very fragile then. He would have likely met Olmert's fate if this had continued.
But everything was put a hold with the Oct 7th attacks and he's been on a war path ever since. The Israeli opposition is neutered as long as he is a war general and there's nobody else to put him in check.
Iran really need to flex its muscles because it's the second time they get attacked (officially) by Israel and their response is lukewarm at best. At this point, I am of the opinion that they were selling wolf tickets unless proven otherwise.

That’s the problem. We don’t have an opposition party when it comes to Israel. Both parties are bought and paid for and they are lock and step with each other.
The left wing media is also compromised. The hypocrisy on the left wing when it comes to Israel is almost as disgusting as the right’s worship of Trump on the right. The Prime Time lineup on MSNBC all but ignored Gaza last year and now they are treating this attack with kid gloves. They are scrambling to figure out how to frame it to make a genocidal lunatic look good.
