I don't get the US stance on Iran. Seems fairweather.
1970s: Shah is bad, there shouldn't be a king. Overthrow him.
79s-80s: Iraq is bad. Give Iran several squadrons of Tomcats.
2008-2012: you're cool as long as you promise not to manufacture nuclear weapons.
2025: bomb them
2026: Americans shouldn't protest! We want a shah back! Iranians, go protest.
