I listened to Ilhan talk about the JCPOA today. She said Biden and the Schumer wing didn’t like it, which is why it’s not used as a criticism of Trump for pulling out. According to her, Biden wasn’t interested in jumping back in because he wasn’t a fan of it in the first place, but Obama was president at the time. She also said Pelosi supported the JCPOA, so there’s a divide among Democrats on promoting it, even though it’s very popular with the base.

You left out the part where that same JCPOA that they were divided over is also how we ended up with the $3.8B MOU to Israel.

That's an important point to include if we're going to continue to act as if Biden's issue with the JCPOA was to have latitude to assist Israel.

I guess they saw China putting pressure on Iran to sit and negotiate with the US and want to try and see if that works with a blockade.

Also, the lengths regimes can reach when they have national pride on their side as a galvanizer (and in Iran's case they don't even "need" that to do some fukked up shyt). Kind of hard picturing Iran folding quickly with a blockade. And by the time they could start feeling some pressure, the rest of the word would be in much worse shape and asking the US to stop and sit a table to negotiate again.

Plus, the back and forth bombing is gonna resume and we saw how that turned out last time
