Did Paige’s team beat them because they’re young or because they had the better team? Was Sarah Strong not a freshman who was arguably UConn’s best player? Plenty of trash upperclassmen and talented freshman/sophomores. The age is less of a factor than the talent. Didn’t UConn beat the #1 team in country in UCLA on the way to the championship? UCLA didn’t have a bunch of freshmen. As far as HVL, no one was picking TCU to beat ND because ND was the more talented team on paper. In fact, no one picked TCU to do anything when the season started. Everyone laughed and felt like she only went there to pad her stats.

Pretty much the same for UCLA with most of their core being 21-23. Most good teams aren't starting a bunch of freshmen.
You have to be 22 during the calendar year to enter the WNBA draft. A season ending injury automatically adds a year so you'll be 23 if you play as a senior. Olivia and Azzi will both be 23 during the college basketball season.
An ACL is a year of not playing so if you play 4 years and another player has a medical redshirt then goes pro it's still 4 years. You don't gain any advantage missing a year due to injury.
CC played 4 years but only Paige went against 18 year olds
. These stans either don't know basketball or play dumb to suit their bias. Which player is better will be decided when the Fever play Dallas as if one team's roster and coaching staff isn't superior to the other's. If Paige is better she should lift an interior team to victory but when someone mentioned CC not winning a title but Paige did it's because UCONN had a better team

Why couldn’t they beat Texas? Also, ND had a 5 year senior as well as three other regular seniors in the lineup. Reason they lost is because Hildago went 3-19 and Miles was hurt, otherwise TCU loses to them in the sweet sixteen. It ain’t like ND was overmatched. It was a close game with TCU pulling away late.

I mean, not many people are going to be interested in a Sky vs. Liberty game on a random Tuesday night. The Liberty are a juggernaut team, and the Sky are a bad team.

The 2024 WNBA Finals between the Lynx and Liberty got good ratings (best WNBA Finals ratings in 25 years).
I'm just saying the league is fumbling the eyes they have. They know right or wrong that alot of people watch for one player/team.
But they're not getting those eyes to other teams at the same rate. Both those teams had the highest rated games against the Fever this year but when they play each other it does 200k better than the Storm/Wings a week ago.
They've given the Fever the most televised games ever but it won't mean a thing if only one team benefits.
Stern in the 80s figured it out but the WNBA brass may be too incompetent to get this to another level. Or maybe they're too comfortable being under the NBA's thumb smh. I guess we'll see if things get better over the summer and see if the league can develop more intrigue for these casual viewers.

Which is what I'm saying. If there's a lot of casuals only watching one team it's not good for leverage in negotiations. The Fever aren't the 90s Bulls or Cowboys. That isn't sustainable.
