When Karmilla was drafted over Angel, I knew that was some BS lol
Karmilla is best suited as a #3 option, not a #2 imo

They should've named themselves: the Portland Rose, Portland Cascades, or Portland Thorns.
Fire is better than all those names. Rose is already an Unrivaled team. Thorns and Cascades are terrible
I like the burning rose logo but the color scheme is boring and the font needs work.
Thorns are the name of the woman's soccer team. Unrivaled has a team named the Rose and they not naming a team after dishwashing detergent

Fire is a tone-deaf name, given the fact that Oregon experiences a ton of wildfires.

Cascades has nothing to do with that detergent. Oregon is a part of the Cascadia region. Cascadia = Cascades.

It would be better for branding to not have two women's bball teams with the same name.
I agree but it's obvious they did it for historical reasons and at least the word fire has a basketball context.
Thorns doesn't sound city or basketball related. I don't know enough about Portland to come up with another name but I'm sure they could've found something not related to disasters that effect the west coast. Selling Fire merch in Cali is crazy.
Plenty of WNBA & NBA team names aren't city or basketball related.
Anyway, "Thorns" relates to roses and Portland being "Rose City". However, Portland's women's soccer team already has that name. I forgot about them in my original post.
