Went to my first Valkyries game last night, a couple observations:
This team has their branding figured out like nothing I’ve ever seen before. People were wearing only Valks gear. I wore a long sleeve Warriors shirt, and stood out like crazy. Looking through the crowd, I could only see a handful of people wearing blue and gold. Niners season starts in a few days, Giants play down the street, nobody wears their shyt. It’s like this is a completely different fan base.
I’ve never seen so many lesbians in my life. It seemed like everyone around us was a couple. shyt, even some of the straight couples looked lesbian. It didn’t bother me, I’d just never seen anything on that scale before. I wonder if it’s like that at most wnba arenas, or just a San Francisco thing.
Speaking of the ladies, gotdamn are they loud. The arena looked 90% full, and everybody was locked in. I remember how amped the crowd used to get at Oracle, but that was more of a roar. When it’s mostly women screaming, it’s a shrill sound. That shyt hurt my ears.
Overall I had a nice time. The team is good and the experience/venue is entertaining. I’d definitely consider going back, but I’m not buying any lavender colored merchandise.

Nah, this is just an excuse. The Liberty just don't have it this year.
Even without Sab, a Liberty team with Stewie, JJ, Meesseman, and Cloud shouldn't be playing this poorly. No excuses.

Perimeter defense is horrendous but it happens when you lose BLH (injury) and KT (Valks) in the same offseason with no replacement
