Old heads let atleast 7 of the young boys make their argument. This is apparently a popular opinion in 2019’after the 7th comment old heads should have enough receipts to go in. It’s important that the young boys state their case first.

In terms of just flat out skill and just rapping I think they're even, there's been different versions of Jay over the years but there's only really been one Cole though and I think that's the main thing that sets them apart. Jay's reinvented himself a few times and while it hasn't always worked it's given him a lot of variance in content so I'll take him over Cole in that regard. Cole's never dropped a bad album IMO (4YEO is probably the closest but still not a bad album) but I think Jay has dropped a few.

All in all, I think just the longevity of Jay and him being able to exist in different eras of rap gives him the nod and the advantage, but I think Cole is just as good of a rapper bar for bar, he just doesn't have the diversity Jay has had.

In terms of impact, technique, sales, longevity, what are we talking about? The variables are so important that it makes for an impossible discussion to come to terms with.I like Cole but going by my variables he has some catching up to do,but i can see where the kids are coming from.
