The only way that J. Cole could be better than Jay-z is if the only thing you treasure in hiphop is relating to an artist and you being and middle class college kid. Or if you value not having features and producing your own shyt higher than making great music. And other specific things like that.

Other than that, I'd assume that one enjoys them for the same reason, reasons that Jay is 10 times better at.


I think for Cole you could make a case against Beans, except that he can't spit like beans did in his prime. But then again Beans was spitting like Jay in his prime. But Cole has the same traits in that features are often 5/5 but his own albums far from.
