Talking about route running, setting up DB's, disguising route, hands at the last moment, etc...Megatron isn't in Rice's league there.
Physically he is far greater.

If Megatron, doing what he does, is able to do it as long and at as high of a level as Rice he will go down as the better receiver

heres another fact:
the league is extremely pass-biased now compared to then.

you are considered an inferior qb if you dont throw for 4k yards nowadays.

out of 34 times qbs threw for 4500 yards in a season, only EIGHT happened before 2000. and more than half of them was Marino or Fouts

Calvin Johnson is a physical exception to every rule of the typical WR build. We've seen other big WR 's in college....Roy Williams, etc., but none of them carry over well to the NFL.

with Megatron, you can literally throw him the ball anywhere in his vicinity. He can jump and get it...then he can outrun your entire team and break tackles if necessary.

Nobody has never been able to do all of that at the WR position. Irvin was physical, Moss could jump, others had speed....Johnson has it all.

Yep, imo Calvin Johnson is definitely the best "go get it receiver" there ever was.

Yeah I can't fathom what the op was thinking in 2013. Back in the day, safeties could murder you just because you were in their zone. And everybody led with their helmets
